Blank (black) screen possible explanation - PS3Hax Network

Hi.
My phat 2nd rev PS3 is connected to a dated (2006) HD-Ready LG lcd tv.
The video settings is 720p HDMI since that is the screen native resolution.
It's a 3.41 jb.

I quite often experience black screens - most notably on backup manager start/exit and blackbox FTP start, and sometimes on backup start or exit to XMB.

In most cases the problem is resolved by simply switching the TV to another input, and then switching back to the HDMI the PS3 is connected to.

The display in most often restored after that.
I've never had that kind of problem with XBOX360 or any other HDMI enabled device.
Also, it doesn't seem to appear if a game launch .pkg is used in non-jb mode.

Perhaps homebrew creators forget to reinitialize the video subsystem or something like that? Or is it a 3.41 fw Sony bug?
