what is the chances now that this is more open then previous other os
is it possible in the future to install Macintosh 10.5 or earlier not through a linux emulator such as qemu but on a separate partition i'm a major mac user plus mac ppc to my knowledge has more apps (such as pcsx) that would be usable but if not i would be happy enough with an ubuntu distro |

you guys are trying some hard stuff! although this machine has high processing power it only has 256mb of ram (if i am not mistaken) so easy on the demands XD
anyway if mac 10.5 can be run on a machine 256mb ram, well it is possible i think...

By meaning "possible", yes it is possible, but it will run pretty tight due to the 256 MB of memory (remember, the PS3 has 512 MB of memory, 256 for graphics, 256 for general purpose).
And the investigation that graf is making, will allow users to install Linux without GameOS/HV restrictions which are RSX blocked, only 6 SPEs, HV locked, HDD non-Linux partitions hidden or encrypted, Linux boots through GameOS (which is not the best loader). |

Does this only work on system that had and lost linux or does this also work on PS3 slim consoles

The rest is exactly the same, the main PS3 OS (GameOS or whatever) boots up from what is written in the HV and/or the NAND, which graf has now fully customized. |

yes, ps3 has 256 mb of ram, but they operate @3.2 GH regular ddr2 rams operate between 667 or 800 MH. In addition, ddr 3 rams operate @1066 MH !!!. in other words , that 256 is much for gaming purposes  .

ubuntu can read NTFS so does it mean that with linux on ps3 we can copy games from external to internal using NTFS formatted drives?
