[NEW TUTORIAL for newbies] Block $ony servers info queries.
Hello everyone.
When we turn on our consoles (and its only connected to the Internet without being connected to PSN) we received a request for information from $ony servers (specifically for our FM + Console ID + Login ID + Password). And when we connect to PSN ... basically the servers have access to all information on our console... So to block queries from $ony servers, I made another "tutorial for newbies" :1 - Start the "CMD" and type "ipconfig / all". Press "Enter". 2 - Look for "Default Gateway" or "DHCP Server" and you will find some numbers in front (something like "192.168.1.254"). This number is the address of your router, copy that number to the notepad or something. 3 - Now open your browser and type in the address box the number of your router (it will open the Settings page of your router). 4 - Usually asks for a "username" and "password". If no one has altered the data, just search the model of your router and you will find the standard "username" and "password". 5 - Now go to the section of the firewall (depending on the router, the location may vary... it can be in the parental control, on the filter, etc.. Read your router's manual to know the exact location) and add the following addresses to be blocked: - "auth.np.ac.playstation.net" - "ena.net.playstation.net" - "mercury.dl.playstation.net" - "nsx.np.dl.playstation.net" - "tmdb.np.dl.playstation.net" - "us.np.stun.playstation.net" - "xmb.dl.playstation.net" 6 - (your router now will block queries coming from these addresses ... but what if for some reason your router's firewall is down ?!... let's give a little extra security ...) Open the "Notepad", go to "File" and select "Open ...". 7 - Change the "Text Documents (*. txt)" to "All Files (*.*)" and open the "hosts" file. You can found it in "C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/". 8 - At the end of the "#", press "Enter" to create a new line (do NOT insert a "#". "#" its use to comment things in the host file). And write "127.0.0.1", press "Tab" (to create a separation between addresses in columns), and type "playstation.net". 9 - Now go to "File" and select "Save As...". Make sure that "All Files (*.*)" is selected and overwrite the "hosts" file. 10 - Now do the tutorial "F#ckPSN" ![]() http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=19840 Last edited by mikhael; 02-21-2011 at 07:30 AM. |

No problem
![]() Just a notice for anyone who did the tutorial befor reading this: i wrote: Auth.np.ac.playstation.net Ena.net.playstation.net Mercury.dl.playstation.net Nsx.np.dl.playstation.net Tmdb.np.dl.playstation.net Us.np.stun.playstation.net Xmb.dl.playstation.net But the firts letters are not in CAPS, so it should look like this: auth.np.ac.playstation.net ena.net.playstation.net mercury.dl.playstation.net nsx.np.dl.playstation.net tmdb.np.dl.playstation.net us.np.stun.playstation.net xmb.dl.playstation.net Sorry for the mixup. |

for 8 - At the end of the "#", press "Enter" to create a new line. And write "127.0.0.1", press "Tab" (to create a separation between addresses in columns), and type "playstation.net".
Do we need to have the # Infront of our new line? + My routers firewall only has the entries for IP RANGE, should i use filter instead? |

Use the filter + the hosts file method ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* It works with "F#uckPSN", so it should work with Charles and PS3DNS too. |

Ok i have done that just in my router i have ip adress filtering and domain filtering so i choosed domain filtering is that right ?
In the hosts file i added 127.0.0.1 playstation.net , now just i question, will this keep us from getting banned ? Because when sonny cant anymore see what we have on our system does that mean that we can play online with "F#uckPSN" and we wont get banned ? |

domain its fine. This will not keep you from getting ban...this its just to stop $ony to retrive info from your console. When you are online...people can see what you have on your CFW. So probably you should use PSninja too. And a warning to ALL PEOPLE: if you are a cheater or have a game modified....you have very high chance of being ban. |
