If that's true then I wonder what if someone/geohotz imported their ps3. How would the law handle that? I know they'd be living on American soil but still who would go after the culprit, SNEA or SNEJ directing SNEA? If it's the later of the 2, then possibly they would of cared less perhaps? I don't know.

yes lol, it's pathetic that Sony are relying solely on Californian jurisdiction to have any hope of a win. that's their way of jailbreaking the legal system I guess.

erm they got it from Sony!

That is what Sony are doing, they have an account with a nickname, they got the IP address used to register that account from the ps3 which showed it originated in New Jersey, then they googled the nickname and found a post talking about jailbreaking a motorola phone.

Sony then put this "evidence" forward as "solid" proof that it is geohot who made the psn account.

As we all know
i) anyone can register anywhere with any nickname they want
ii) IP addresses are not proof, they can be faked very easily
iii) New Jersey is a big place
iv) has geohot even put any interest in a motorola phone? All I have seen is iphone and ps3 nothing else.

So it is not geohot's defense that is silly, it is Sony's so called evidence which is all circumstantial.

Even if Sony were in the right, the underhanded tactics they have used and continue to use should show you they they have no real case here.
