xmb category sfo codes and other neat tricks
xmb category sfo codes
i just found out that i can hax edit .sfo's and move the relative app under a different xmb category anyhow i figured to do a list of the xmb category codes for any future homebrewers or xmb modders. AM = Music (works) AV = Video (works) AP = Photo (works) AT = TV (works) CB = Network (works) HM = PSN (works) some credit to NZ Hawk, he discovered it before me. how to add xmb music to homebrew i've recently found i can add music to my brew.. this should work with any homebrew. first i converted a mp3 to at3 renamed it to SND0.AT3 watch on youtube for program links ‪Convert anything into atrac3 at3 with at3 download‬‏ - YouTube now when your done and happy ftp or copy from usb to any of your homebrew folders example:- dev_hdd0/game/BXXX00000/SND0AT3 now exit to xmb , hover over and see if it worked

thanks XD and thanks to chilo3000 for the the following info:
enabling remote play all modifications does using system file editor v0.80, 1: on 'key #2 ATTRIBUTE 5 PADDING 0 DATA TYPE 4. Delete line 5, which says license, 2: go to line 7,system version, change 'data' from 01.8000 to 01.00. padding 2 data type 2. 3: Go to line 9.Sound format, change 'data' from 279 to 1, padding 0 data type 4. 4:Delete line 12, 'version'. NB:ALL OTHER SETTINGS REMAIN THE SAME and of course, click enable remote play, when you are finished you should safe your param.sfo and open it again to check the changes have stuck, you should end up with 10 lines, line 1 being app_ver, line 10 being title_id confirmired working on showtime by chilo3000

I have been continuing my mission to get my ps3 to how i want it, and i am very proud to present to you... per per parrrrh
How To Add Channels to TV Fire up your most liked ftp app goto: /dev_hdd0/tmp/explore/xil/tv may as well just copy the whole tv folder out, its not big.. now, on pc goto: tv/ctmp/63437280604629884/ open up: xil.xml with an editor may as well now go and open the other copy of xil.xml in: tv/c/63437280604629884/ as both need to match. all i did was pick one of the foreign channel slots, and change the address and country code.... i.e adultswim uk Code:
<mtrl id="1006" lastm="2009-11-20T13:00:00.000Z"> <name>adultswim uk</name> <url type="1001">http://xmb.dl.playstation.net/xmb/ps3/AD..1WSfwnwPwNFaQCpP5bBETOc_/tv/rtve_02/ICON0.PNG</url> <url type="1002">http://xmb.dl.playstation.net/xmb/ps3/AD..1WSfwnwPwNFaQCpP5bBETOc_/tv/rtve_02/PIC0.PNG</url> <url type="1003">http://xmb.dl.playstation.net/xmb/ps3/AD..1WSfwnwPwNFaQCpP5bBETOc_/tv/rtve_02/PIC1.PNG</url> <url type="1004">http://xmb.dl.playstation.net/xmb/ps3/AD..1WSfwnwPwNFaQCpP5bBETOc_/tv/rtve_02/PIC2.PNG</url> <target type="u">http://www.adultswim.co.uk/videos</target> <cntry>gb</cntry> <lang>all</lang> i have uploaded my whole tv folder so dont worry you can copy the channels/icons/backgrounds i did from mine ![]() http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2VA5VXTR when your done adding channels and editing the icons/backgrounds for those channels copy the whole tv folder via ftp to: /dev_hdd0/tmp/explore/xil/ now exit from your ftp app and enjoy all your new tv sites.. heres some crappy drunk phone pictures.. (mc hammer playout- you cant touch this .................. stop , hammer time) EDIT: the above method also works with the xmb's music category, i added skreemr.com ... so if my guessing right video should be fair game for shortcuts too.. also noted that a .pkg d/l can be done from this ... dont know about eboot or sfo launching

sorry dude, i know squat about doing what you would want a theme randomizer... but a very good idea, i wish i could help sounds doable XDNext job for me is i plan on having a look into xmb background music on apps/games as snes and gen emu's have just had this impemented by squarepusher2, any help/tips will be very welcome, just drop me a pm. EDIT: i've got nowhere editing app .sfo's for bgm , i did try a good few.. new, old, l1ght and official with now joy, also got no pm's i think now this is a worthy thing to look into as sqarepusher2 has managed to do it, goodness knows how.on a sidenote i put all the shaders from the new snes9x into my ps3sxbeta shaders folder and they work ( .cg ) i do hope squarepusher2 picks up ps3sx next, seems the next perfect project for the super dude XD
