Brink (FW 3.60) Game working on v3.55.1 Rebug CFW

it works on kmeaw as well...also this is most likely a fluke as sony was dumb enough to use an old SDK to compile the update...chances are this wont happen again or wont be possible on most games

Ok, maybe a stupid question, but we have the 3.55 SDK yes? So cannot we just mimic what Sony have done by mistake in other 3.60 games?

Hence my asking the question as the OP states the patch (EBOOT part) was written with 3.55 keys and it is the EBOOT which is modified, and "we" was used as a generic term .

Well I guess the original eboot was crypted using 3.60 keys, then decrypted using the 3.60 keys and instead of re-encrypting the updated eboot with the 3.60 keys they accidentally used the 3.55 keys. So we'd still need the 3.60 keys to mimic what sony have done & if we had them there'd be no point in doing all this as we'd surely have cfw 3.60..... just my thoughts on your point, but I could well be wrong.
