In vbox I selected "Linux Fedora 64-bit"

At least that one brings me past the kernel complaint.

Now where are the examples? And how do I start learning? I would like to learn how to put stuff on the screen, cursor, letters, blobs, lines, beziers, etc.

How much memory do you find appropriate for this kind of work? Mine is now at 256MB

grrrr.. appearantly 64-bit versions isn't supported, Vbox doesn't even show it, and VMPlayer complains '64-bit guest operations are not supported by this host and will not run' when I select fedora 64-bit..
Ah crap, I just read it needs EM64T AND VT for 64bit support, and guess what, I'm just missing out on the VT.. I've got a P4 660 and VT was added in the 662.. grrrr............. I hate this sht....

Then you are probably not running your host OS in 64-bit.

Disane, do you know if there is any info about or progress in the RSX driver for Linux ? Last year I did read some info from you about it but never found anything about it afterwards.

yes I am running my host in 64 bit (windows 7 x64 Ultimate), but my proc doesn't support the VT extention which is needed to run 64bit guest OSses in VMWare/VirtualBox..

I have all my "PCs" in a rack, and run them all from my MacBook.

LOL, with VMWare Fusion under Mac, the "psl1ght-dev.vmx" is directly recognized (it's a seen as a Fedora linux image ), logged in as user & playing with it a bit ^^

YOSH, it's awsome thank you guys for this awsome big job & nice idea

I'll try later with VirtalBox too, and say what's up back here

Oh and thanks ps3hax

download/install the latest version of VirtualBox, create new virtual machine and select the vmx as your hdd, works like a charm (unless your PC isn't capable of running 64bit guest Osses through VirtualBox/VMware..

virtualbox on Mac and Linux runs smooth too, no converting of the image needed. But have to make a new virtual machine, and load the image from the download as the HDD of that new VM.
