Change HDD, file bigger than 4gb

Hello, I wonder if this will work to put a new 3.5" 2TB HDD in PS3, http://cgi.ebay.com/SATA-ESATA-Built...ht_2832wt_1026, http://cgi.ebay.com/SATA-Male-ESATA-...item19c418f242 and http://cgi.ebay.com/2-5-3-5-SATA-HDD...item4aa64fbdc0 and a 3.5" HDD, will this work? But the filesystem FAT32 doesn't support files bigger than 4gb, so how can I copy bigger files than 4gb? Just need some feedback

Don't know if building an external setup for your internal hard disk will work this way, the internal PS3 drive has its own filesystem, not Fat32. so don't worry about the 4Gb and larger files I think, it is not USB.

An external on an 'extender' works fine, and as OoZic says, the PS3 has it's own file system and it will format whatever drive you use to suit that

Beware that many 1.5 TB and 2 TB drives will not work "internally" using PS3 HDXT, I have not figured out why yet, but I assume it has to do with some sort of sleep mode on the drive itself.

From what I understand, the WD 1.5-3TB drives don't work as "external internals" at all. Not sure about other brands, or even if the PS3FS supports drives over 1TB. I need to try it out with a seagate one day...I have a 1.5TB and a 2.0TB just sitting on a shelf unused.

The older 2 TB drives work, the newer ones don’t, that’s why I suspect some sort of energy saving feature to mess it up.

If that is confirmed, then it has nothing to do with energy savings. Newer 1tb+ drives are designed for the GPT, with 4K sectors.

I think I will have to connect a couple drives when I get home...I have an old 1.5TB that I know does not have 4K sectors, and an old 2.0TB that I think does not have 4K sectors, but I'll have to check.
