even if the PS3 isn't as powerfull as a new PC, it takes a lot of power to emulate the PS3, and let's not forget, you'll have to emulate the RSX as well.

Lightbulb Let's all pay attention now...

First of all, no this does not mean custom firmware, and no this has nothing to do with anything of that nature.

Second of all, everyone who says you need three times the amount of power to run a system emulated, is obviously not in the emulator scene at all, because that is completely and totally not true. All that is required is that you have a system with enough power to run the emulator. Usually, like the case with SNES emulators, you can run on a system with half the specs of a SNES. A NES could run a SNES emulator. It really could. It's been done. My current computer could run a PS3 emulator, it has more than enough power.

Running an emulator, even a high-level emulator, takes virtually no resources whatsoever. Even running 3D graphics and the latest GPU technology.

So yes, dude, your computer could definitely run a PS3 emulator. And that computer is not only one of the best configurations available today, it will be for some time. So you must have a really nice car!

If you would like to know the specs of my computer, just ask. I won't post them for people if they don't really care.

I hope you're being very sarcastic, otherwise you're really dumb.... NES running a SNES emulator? LOL....

Sorry bud, but an nes cannot run an snes emulator. It could execute the emulator but it would not be able to run any code efficiently or at any decent speed whatsoever. Emulating a system of any type DOES take quite a few resources. Your cpu takes most of the grunt and then the ram takes the rest and thats not emulating a decent graphics processor. Just because the ps3 is a 'lower spec' system when compared to the top of the line gaming desktops today (it isnt really it just has less ram but it operates at far faster bus speeds so does the work equal to or more than a gaming desktop with far more memory, that along with a slower hdd), it still outperforms them due to the way its hardware works together and the way it manages its system resources. A PC today, no matter what the specs, could not emulate the ps3. For one, there is no emulator in existence capable of such a feat and the coding to create one would be very very complex since the cell broadband engine (the ps3's processor) is an entirely different architecture then the intel family i386 x32 or x64 architecture. Sorry bud but no, your pc could not and will not emulate the ps3. If you can prove me wrong then I would be delighted.
