Exactly, however the problem isnt these people....nor the people who just wont be able to understand it yet really want to. The problem, no dilemma is this: If we make things easier for teh folks who arent able to just understand tech like we do, who really do need a lil help so they can make their machines one of a kind.....then the people who expect everything to just be on a silver platter under their nose will basically get exactly that. Yet if we do not, then teh people who have a hard time doing so wont be able to and be stuck with the same ole same ole....and the ******bags'll just get off their ass this once to do it themselves. Lesser of two evils if you ask me.

EDIT: @TizzyT I didnt doubt you would ofcourse and 5 posts in a year, the sixth obviously meant only to troll twist seems just like those fellas with the silver platters i mentioned above.....I wouldnt suggest replying or even humoring any future posts unless he decides to bring sumthin worth while to the table.

I have to disagree. This would slow the scene down even more than it already is! This is almost forcing people to learn something they may not want to learn.
What if I don't want to learn C? Am I just assed out now because the people who already know it aren't going to share with me? It's not me being lazy - I just don't care about learning C.

What if you went to McDonalds and ordered your food, and instead of them giving you your Big Mac (I don't know why you'd be eating there in the first place) they gave you ingredients and told you to make it yourself?

Or what if when you bought a car, they just gave you parts and told you to assemble it yourself because they're tired of noobies coming in and buying pre-built cars.

Get what I'm saying?

I see your point...but i think you misunderstood. I was just stating the current problem with the scene and the people that make it up. The lesser of two evils i was trying to make as my point was that I still think its more helpful to help them out even if it means the lazy a$$e$ still get to be lazy. I would RATHER everyone learn as they go like myself....but im not blind to the fact that not everyone can or feels good reason to. In this subject I am neutral , hope I cleared that up a bit :P.

But my friend, im afraid a question became an answer, and that answer sparked a lil debate....I dont wanna get too offtopic here lol

i have always tried to share as much info i can while learning myself imho this is a great chance to learn a golden bit about hex editing that you can apply to other program hackery, glowball1 has already done all the hard steps and its nice to have the method and ingredients for all to see so we can cook up other tasty things.. like from this we can look at the other .qrc's XD and if you dont want to learn for something you want.. dont , wait for someone nice to make program.. the way i look at it is you cant want it much if you dont want to learn, but the 'DIY flat pack' vs 'noob pre-built' would make a good off topic thread... as i have to side with SKUD, stuff like this lets others learn and it is good for the scene, and a very good chance to put something back in by uploading their xmb mods

on topic:
i noticed with mine the wave drops off screen from 8am coming back up about 4pm so i am going to try fixing it. also if your modding make your ps3 crash just install a cfw from the recovery menu, i've fixed my ps3 a few times this way after messing with dev_flash.
here's a online backup of the qgl folder
http://mirror.zlo.in/ps3/dumps/mysel.../resource/qgl/
not mine i found it ages ago, but i know how mistakes can happen with backups getting deleted/overwritten/lost and handy if you want to restore your wave

so i dont think there's a need to worry about bricking from this, as it can easily be reverted/fixed.

@Glowball I cant seem to get strokers to work either, it seems like it tries to mirror the dev_flash...so if I edit any files then it just goes back to recovery everytime. Im ok with going ahead and flashing it, but then again im not even sure im unpacking and repacking the files right to begin with. Im going to edit another lines file and upload......if you wanna take a look at it and lemme know if its actually being done correctly, thatd help me a bit.

Oh and I think its possible to have the wave change with the time of day......or it may change going from day to night and vice versa.

EDIT: Heres my lines.qrc http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q779YEAF .......I just edited a cpl things in the wave I thought might end up interesting and compressed. Maybe you can tell me why I keep ending up with a ****ed up qrc.

@ SKUD

Just got back from London pal. I have installed your lines.qrc file and looked at the settings. You seem to have changed the start position and angle of the wave(x,y,z). Yes you are right in a way the wave does change from time to time.

Here is some info on which line(wave) does which:

override/coldboot1/LINE1 = Coldboot.raf wave

override/day/LINE1.MNU = RGB wave (when colour is selected)

override/night/LINE1.MNU = Night wave (when "original" is selected)

override/black/LINE1.mnu = XMB wave. when xmb is re-booted after game etc.. (use to test wave and then copy settings)

override/bright/LINE1.mnu = When brightness is set

override/gameboot1/LINE1.mnu = Gameboot wave

Update coming soon.

I am also thinking of uploading some waves (lines.qrc), so everyone can have a go.

As for you testing with a USB loader. Are you using Jaicrab's loader with a EBOOT.BIN made with geohotz keys (npdrm)?

@Glowball see heres the deal.....Jaicrabs loader works fine, strokers works good too. Up until the point I change from my original backed up lines.qrc to the edited lines file...it hangs before I even get to the xmb. So I figured it was the loader....I then went ahead and just flashed it directly with dev_blind. Cut out the middleman so to speak. I boot up my machine and bam directly to that "the fw cldnt load blah blah press ps button to try a reboot" message and I hafta load kmeaw back on. I uploaded my lines.qrc in the hopes you could tell me where i went wrong between the decompression, edit, and recompression.....but if it flashed for you just fine my only question now is how the flyin **** :P lol is it not working on my ps3?

oh and london huh, never been but wld like too.

EDIT: Thanks for the patients on this I appreciate it.....im just at a loss with why my lines dsnt work on mine.

@ SKUD

Sounds like it's the CFW/Payload your using. I have never used kmeaw is it lv2 pre-patched?

I am on Rebug CFW. Another thing you could try is jailbreaking or loading the Hermes 4c payload then running Jaicrabs USB loader.

I could be wrong but I dnt think mines prepatched lv2..... I would prefer to use Rebug but that annoying trophy problem has kinda pissed me off. After they post that its fixed, uploaded the fix....and then I find out not a thing was changed, it gave me good reason not to trust them. To be honest, now that I think about it im gonna go give Rebug another shot and see where that takes me. I apparently have a kidney stone so in between the pain and the pain meds I might not be playin around with my machine alot for a bit, but Ill get back to you.

Oh and it seems like everyone got bored of this thread or sumthing, so if you dont feel like reading my posts on here lemme know lol. Always a pleasure tho ttyl.
