Linux based N64 Emulator
hey guys, there is a newer Linux based emulator out that has the source code released
http://code.google.com/p/mupen64plus/ I have seen the Mupen64 mentioned here but this is the Mupen64plus and the above link contains the source code (I think) I know dick all about programming but I hope this helps someone as it is a linux based emulator and not a windows one! from there I guess someone with the know how could port it over to the PS3 |

Yeh thats for 32 bit systems ...
this also would probably actually help .. http://www.emutalk.net/threads/29643....5-source-code Source code and other dev files for standard Mupen man I wish I knew how to code etc ... I would so put heaps of time into this... |

sounds great hope this will lead to a n64 emulator for the ps3 would love to play golden eye and mario kart.

I had e-mailed some of the creators of the Mupen64Plus, I got this info yet I am a little lost on what exactly has to be done and how much work it entails.... any help ?...
"You would need (or at least as recommendation) to port the newdynarec from Ari64 to the mupen64plus hg version and write a PowerPC backend for it. You could start on porting it to PS3 after you are done with the PowerPC dynarec. I think we are already able to use Interpreter and Cached Interpreter on PowerPC (at least in my fork of the repositories). nogagplz tested it and told me that it seems to work. But the low end PPE of the PS3-Cell should be to slow to provide a decent experience." |

FYI Wii64 which EmuKidd and others are porting to ps3 is based off of mupen64. What is holding up the release of PS364 is the fact they are having to do an entire rewrite of their dynarec from 32bit to 64bit PPC. So have some faith, it may take a while there is most likely a lot of work involved in the Dynarec rewrite.

as well they needed focus on the wii version too but i know whats the next version they're gonna add to wii64 and not just kalliera support too

I maybe wrong but I thought they weren't going to do the rewrite for the PS3 version?
Although they are in the process of rewriting the dynarec for the Wii, but real life stuff comes first, Family/Work so that's why things are taking longer? I can't find a mention anywhere saying they are going to rewrite the dynarec for the PS3 version... |
