Did you already create the ps3vflashh partition with the format option?

I think you can use Fdisk from within petitboot?

I have used the old method, I used lvl2-v9, this lets met start the Debian net CD and from there I can use the partition-manager to partition and format the new partitions on ps3vflashh. But that is because I installed it before geoffrey wrote his guide how to install OtherOS++.

ps3 otheros levand

I have searched a lot of forums looking for an answer for this but they all just tell you what the thing is supposed to do. I have tried the geoffrey levand petitboot method using debian on 3.41 and 3.55 and to date i have yet to see any evidence of the QA mode that is supposed to enabled in update manager or the dongleless downgrade factory service. Perhaps it is something i am doing wrong or have missed something but as there are no tuts for enabling these options could someone please put me out of my misery and explain what i am doing wrong

I have installed the otheros petitboot debian method using vflash etc and i have got it up and running on both 3.41 and 3.55 successfully. But my frustration is that no matter where i look there is a quote that using geoffrey levands method of linux dual os enables QA mode in update manager and a factory service dongless downgrade mode. I have not seen any evidence of either on both firmware installs i have done where is these options or where am i going wrong!!!!

Do you have the latest graf/geoffrey kernel installed and the utilities? The utilities give you the power to mess with flags, make vflashb available etc.

For ps3db do this:
mount -t ufs -o ufstype=ufs2 /dev/ps3db /mnt (as root !!)
(be very careful with this !!! it is your PS3 flash with the CFW, messing/deleting files from here can change your PS3 in a brick.....)

Have you folks seen this?

http://wiki.gitbrew.org/index.php/PS3:OtherOS++

It's the update to the glevand site.

Though no graphic drivers yet.

Any one knows which versions of Linux are supported and whether the trophy problem is fixed?

We know what is causing the error

Maybe disabling just this one will get everything working fine until it's fixed.

I will update if/when i find something

EDIT : Found it. The patch that causes this problem is "Allow access to all SS services (needed for ps3dm-utils)".
Disabling this patch in PS3MFW Builder while creating your firmware will make trophies work again.
I'm a bit new to this so I don't know how ps3dm-utils works or how useful it is, but since it's apparently needed for accessing the BD drive among other things, it might be a problem for some people. But at least you can make a working OtherOS++ enabled firmware with working trophies by disabling that patch, until a fix comes .

i'm really sorry to have this question, but i'm curious enough for this,

after i install the linux, will i able to install a program? like blender, or anything else, i just want to use the ps3 as rendering engine, since i saw the previous users (before jailbroken) able to use it as a render engine

i'm really sorry if i'm asking in a wrong place
