How do we know that having cfw isn't enough to fool the console into playing it? I've heard from plenty of VERY reliable sources that just burning game files to a bd-r as a data disk will allow it to be recognized in multiman, so why wouldn't burning a disk as an image in the OFFICIAL burning app work?

I didn't say I knew for a fact anything would work, but I think it's completely ridiculous that anyone can just shoot down an idea without even trying it, which I still have yet to see anyone posting. So as far as I'm concerned, everyone here is just too stubborn to try i because they "know for a fact it won't work because it didn't last generation on a completely different console"

that's like saying "well, win95 didn't support wifi, so win7 definitely won't either"
*facepalm*

progress for the sake of progress should be encouraged....and those with ideas on making progress shouldn't be shot down and flamed just because their idea has never worked before in different circumstances. You never know until you try.

lightyear im not going to tell you what you are talking about, will or will not work, im just going to say thanks for your post's, whether your idea works or not, you are laying down those ideas, which is a billion times better than the "will this give us 3.70 cfw" post's, so again thank you.

Thank you, GR...that is exactly what is needed here. No one should ever be discouraged for contributing, whether their idea is valid or not

I DON'T know if it's enough (and I'm not hiding that fact). How do you know it is? I was just saying that there's not much difference between you and the people you're calling out. As much as I'd love it if you were right (not because your already high ego would be boosted to infinity but because it would make all our lives much easier), I'm pretty sure you're not the first person in the universe who had this particular idea, somebody must have already tried it (and failed, otherwise it would be all over the net).

I do agree with everything else you wrote though. And as for the whole BD burning thing, I wouldn't know anything about that so I do what every other random noob does - leave it to those who have the knowledge, tools and time to do something about it.

So him posting his ideas/points of opinion, means he has a high ego, so then wouldn't that mean you also have a high ego ?

I never said no one had tried it....but I haven't seen evidence of that. I'm the type of person who says "oh really, the earth is round, huh???? well, mr smarty pants, let's go up in space and see" lmfao It's not because I have a gigantic ego....it's because I'm the type who doesn't believe everything I read. I actually tend to not believe a vast majority of things until I have seen it myself or I have seen overwhelming evidence that it's true.

It's not being egotistical...it's called being sensible instead of gullible

I thought this was appropriate for this situation:

Maybe you're right, I don't know.

Man, the Earth is a flat board that's standing in the center of the universe and everything goes around it, trust me. TRUST ME. If it was round and moving, we'd all eventually fall off! You can confirm that if you just jump. You landed in the same spot, didn't you? See? That wouldn't be possible if it wasn't standing still. Now try jumping out of a moving truck and see what happens. (that's actual argumentation I read somewhere by a 50-60 year old priest, great stuff!)

Okay seriously now, I didn't mean to "attack" you in any way, I just thought it's interesting how you responded like that. As for your idea, I'd honestly love to see somebody test it (even though Pockets already said it doesn't work and I can take his word for it).

im not saying anything about upgrading our fw!! we can stay on 3.55. we just burn the 3.6+ game files, not the param.sfo or eboot files, and the tool would generate a new eboot signed with 3.55 keys. and as we are on 3.55 the blacklist thing does not apply to us!!

I agree with GregoryRasputin but I have to say that (sadly or not) ps3 generator tools can create only masterdiscs/images and .emu files. .emu files are for writing to a bdemu hdd for use with dex/decr units and the masterdiscs will only run on dex/decr. Masterdiscs need to be sent to sce to be finalized and pressed.
