OK I'm getting sick and tired of this assumption. Just because people want a later CFW doesn't mean they are pirates. Last time I checked the PS3 is a gaming console. I mean seriously. People *****ed at Sony when OtherOS was removed as it was an advertised feature. Nobody said "buy another machine." Now when an advertised feature is removed(game support) instead of people saying it should be looked into, now it's "buy another machine."

This scene has seriously changed. We went from having one overlord who we wanted to get out from under, to now having a new set of overlords.

Last time I checked we all hacked our PS3's to have the freedom to do what we want with it. Correct? So then why are people so opposed to us having the freedom to do whatever we want now?

Look I'm grateful to Gitbrew for releasing this. I really am. Likewise I'm not blaming Gitbrew for this stupid mentality, but enough is enough. New CFW =/= piracy. It just doesn't.

Do this, go out to the store and buy a new game. Say for instance Resistance 3 since it's out today. Go home, turn your machine on, and try to play it on a CFW machine. Does it ask you for a higher firmware? Yes? Then how are you a pirate? Did you just go out and buy that game? Yes? Then how are you a pirate just because you want a higher CFW to play that game? It just doesn't make sense.

Piracy means that you downloaded a game. How has the definition now shifted to mean if you want a hacked machine to play a game even a bought one, you are now a pirate?

Oh and before anyone says it, yes I've admitted to piracy. But and this is a big but, I pirate as a means to try out the game. If it's good I buy it, if it's not I don't and delete the game. But this isn't about me. It's about the general notion that if you want to play games on newer firmware your automatically a pirate. So that would means every person here who wants to play Resistance 3, UC3, or any other game that comes out, is now a pirate if they wanna play on CFW. Do you see how stupid that is?

I understand people getting frustrated with idiots coming in here and saying "this release is worthless, I want CFW." But that doesn't mean you should partake in the stupidity by saying "anyone who wants to play newer games = pirates."

Actually yes the 360 scene has accomplished just as much if not more then the PS3 scene. So has the regular Xbox scene. Or have you forgotten about JTAG, the reset glitch, and Ixtreme? Or all the homebrew and emulators?

If over 3.55
1.Buy a hardware flasher and downgrade or Buy a PS3 already on 3.55
2.Downgrade to 3.55
3.Wait for 3.60+ keys minus private ones to be obtained
4. add keys to appldr via PS3MFW builder
5. Enjoy 3.60+ games on 3.55 CFW
6.?????
7.?????
8. Profit

if on 3.55

I agree m8. I'm just simply saying the stupid notion that wanting new CFW = your a pirate, is just that stupid. But yet when said people go out and buy Resistance 3, UC3, or any other title that is coming out in the next year and want a new CFW, they have now just labeled themselves as pirates. So not only is that just downright hypocritical, it's downright ignorant. I mean both Deux Ex and Dead Island don't work on 3.55 that I know of. So that means that even if people buy the games today, they are still pirates because they can't play it on their CFW machine? How do you figure that? Not everyone can afford multiple PS3's. I know I can't. I can barely afford my college let alone to actually play newer games. So usually I'm putting games on a waiting list to actually buy them. I haven't played any of the recent games besides Deus EX on PC. I bought that.

As for this release, thanks goes out to gitbrew. I appreciate you guys releasing this. .

Things is there won't be new CFW it will all just be modified versions of what we already have. Also we do not have a real "CFW" it is all MFW. also if you can afford to buy new games you can afford to save your money and buy a new ps3... 4 games = 1 ps3 hell you can get one for cheaper if you buy from e-bay, a pawn shop, off a friend, etc. IMO a worth while investment, sure it may increase your wait to play those games.

Well that's fine. Whatever happens to allow newer games is fine. I'm merely stating that requesting for newer CFW =/= your a pirate. that's the only point I'm trying to make.

Yeah, true.
We just have to wait for 3.60+ keys public keys, that will be released once the big titles start to come out. We just have to have a little faith.
Those who've been waiting so far, certainly will be able to wait a little more.
If they don't come out, there's always other solutions like buying a second ps3 or the E3 Flasher.
