I just don't want to wreck my PS3 I back games up on for my young bloke!
in all actuality you can back the games up that require 3.6, you just cant play them. if you have another ps3 for online then i suggest you play those games on there.

ATTENTION – Do not upgrade your firmware to v3.56 or higher!!
It must be in 3.55 or lower!

Hardware Required:
Click here to see full text
- Playstation 3 (obviously lol) + controller + power cord from the controller (any USB cable will do).
- Computer operating system Windows XP, Vista or 7.
- Flash drive with at least 512mgs and formatted in "FAT 32".

Instructions for formatting a flash drive in "FAT 32":
Click here to see full text
1 - Insert the flash drive into a USB port on your PC.
2 - Now open "My Computer". Locate the flash drive, press the right button of your mouse and select "Format ..." (a window will appear).
3 - Click on "File System" and select "FAT32".
4 - Make sure that the "Quick Format" is active. And click "Start". Then just wait for it to format (it is possible to give an error but ignore it if present).
5 - Let's create two folders on the root of the flash drive, one named "GAMES" and another named "PS3", inside the folder "PS3" create another folder named "UPDATE" (it is important that the names are in Caps Lock).

Software needed:
Click here to see full text
- Kmeaw's PUP (PS3 operating system customized)
- Rogero Manager v8.3 (backup manager)

Software Instructions:
Click here to see full text
1 - Make sure that the system has the PS3 official version 3.55 or lower.

Instructions to verify the version of the PS3:
Click here to see full text
1.1 - Turn on the PS3 (obviously). Once it starts, go to the left to find the "Settings" section. Now go down until you find "System Settings" and press "X". Go down again until you find "System Information", press again "X" and check the version (if not in the version 3.55 you have to update) .

Instructions to update the PS3 to the official version 3.55 (if already in version 3.55, go to step "2"):
Click here to see full text
1 - Copy the file "PS3UPDAT_OFW.PUP" (you can found it in the "PS3/UPDATE /") to the folder inside the flash drive "PS3/UPDATE /" and change the name to "PS3UPDAT.PUP.
2 - Turn off the PS3 (press the button "Playstation" until the screen goes black with only two options. Select "Turn off the system". We now need to enter the "System Recovery Mode”.
3 - With the PS3 off, press the button "Power" of the console (and do not let go until it turns off).
4 – Press again the "Power" of the PS3, but now you will hear a beep and then two beeps (when you hear the two beeps…release the button and the PS3 will start the “Recovery Mode”).
5 - Insert the flash drive in one of the USB ports of PS3.
6 - Connect the controller to the PS3 with the USB cable and press the "Playstation" button to activate it.
7 – Now go to the last option "System Update" and press "X". The PS3 will ask you to press the buttons "Start" + "Select" to activate the search for the "update". The conditions of the install will appear, go to the right and select "Accept". There will be a question asking if you want to turn off the PS3 after the update or if you want only to start it (select "Start"). Now the PS3 will update the system (it will start normally without you having to leaving the Recovery Mode manually, if you see more indications of the kind of "found an HDMI connection" or whatever ... just follow the instructions).

Instructions to update the PS3 to version 3.55 of customized Kmeaw:
Click here to see full text
1 - Repeat the previous step "1" with the difference of using "PS3UPDAT_Kmeaw.PUP" instead of "OFW" and change the name to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" to the folder on the flash drive "PS3/UPDATE /" (it can only be one “PS3UPDAT.PUP" in this folder, in this case has to be the "PS3UPDAT_Kmeaw.PUP" with the name changed to" PS3UPDAT.PUP”).
2 - Copy the file "RM_v8.3_CFW_MFW_3.55_3.41_3.15__Rb_3.51.1_3.41.2.pkg" (you can download it from the website) to the root of the flash.
3 - Repeat the previous steps of the "2" to "7”.
4 - After the update you will notice that it has appeared two new folders in the "Game" section. One says "*Install Packages Files" (which will serve to install the programs to copy the games) and another that says "*/app_home/PS3_GAME" (which will only serve to start the games). Go to "*Install Packages Files" and press "X". Install the "RM_v8.3_CFW_MFW_3.55_3.41_3.15__Rb_3.51.1_3.41.2.pkg”. Now you will find an icon named "Rogero Manager" (this will be your backup manager that will allow you to copy games into the PS3 and out of it).
5 - Remove your flash drive from your PS3.
6 - Turn off the PS3 by pressing the "PlayStation" and select "System Shutdown".

Instructions to copy (make backups) games for the PS3 hard drive:
Click here to see full text
1 - Turn on your PS3.
2 - Enter into the "Rogero Manager".
3 - Now it will appear will get a warning about how software is not an official and as such, install it at your own risk. (press "X").
4 - (Now it will do a scann to see if there are already game backups) the design can be a bit confusing. Press the "L3" to change how the list of games appears until you are satisfied.
5 - Insert the disc game that you want on your PS3. Now the "Rogero Manager" will read the disc ... and display the name of the game (along with a background image) (the disc has always come first in the list, and there is also a icon to warn you).
6 - Press the "Circle" to copy the game. The "Rogero Manager will ask if you want to copy to the PS3 hard drive (select "yes") (you may get a warning that says there are many small files and therefore will not display progress bar (select "Yes")).
7 - After finishing the copy press "X" to return to the manager. When you return, you will notice that the game appears twice ... this is normal, since in addition to the copy, the manager recognize the disc too. To know which is which, simply select one of the games and on the bottom of the manager you will find icons with the names "HDD” (hard drive of the PS3 + free space you have left), “USB # 1" (flash drive + the free space you have left) and "Disc" (game disc). The box that gets a lighter blue, is where the game is storage.

Instructions to copy the games from the PS3 hard drive or the game disc into a flash drive or external hard drive (which will also need to be in FAT32):
Click here to see full text
1 - To copy the game disc directly to the flash drive or external hard drive without going first to the PS3 hard drive, just do the step "3" above but with the difference that instead of selecting "yes", select "no”. You will see a similar option, but now the question of whether to copy the “USB # 1” (select "yes") (you may get a warning that says there are many small files and therefore will not display progress bar (select "Yes")) (you might still have another reminder that there are files larger than 4GB and the manager will divide these files in several pieces (select "yes ")...games that have those files , will appear with a "_" before the name).
1 - To copy from the PS3 hard drive to a flash drive or external hard drive, do the last step "3". This time it will ask if you want to copy directly to the “USB # 1" (because it’s the only place where you can copy off the drive hard drive, it will directly asks you if you want to copy in “USB # 1”). Select "yes".

Instructions to copy the games from a flash drive or external hard drive to the hard drive of the PS3:
Click here to see full text
1 - Before inserting a flash drive or external hard drive in the USB ports on the PS3 make sure on your PC that in the game folder that is on the flash drive or external hard drive is in the "PS3/GAMES" (example: “PS3/GAMES/BLES00909”).
2 - Insert the flash drive or external hard drive in the USB ports on the PS3.
3 - The manager will automatically recognize the game. Repeat step "3" above.

Instructions for starting a game from the PS3 internal hdd:
Click here to see full text

1 - Make sure that you have a original game inside your PS3.
2 - (inside the manager) Select the game you want and press "X" (the manager will go out automatically).
3 - Go up (where it should be the original game) and you will find the selected game. Press "X" and play it
Instructions for starting a game from the flash drive or external drive (games with files larger than 4GB will not play):
1 - Select the game you want and press "X" (the manager will go out automatically) (any game with “_” is a game that have files larger than 4GB).
2 - Go up to "*/app_home/PS3_GAME”. Will appear an image of the selected game. Press "X" and play it

Instructions to block $ony's queries for your console info:

Click here to see full text
When we turn on our consoles (and its only connected to the Internet without being connected to PSN) we received a request for information from $ony servers (specifically for our FM + Console ID + Login ID + Password).

And when we connect to PSN ... basically the servers have access to all information on our console...

So to block queries from $ony servers, I made another "tutorial for newbies

1 - Start the "CMD" and type "ipconfig / all". Press "Enter".
2 - Look for "Default Gateway" or "DHCP Server" and you will find some numbers in front (something like "192.168.1.254"). This number is the address of your router, copy that number to the notepad or something.
3 - Now open your browser and type in the address box the number of your router (it will open the Settings page of your router).
4 - Usually asks for a "username" and "password". If no one has altered the data, just search the model of your router and you will find the standard "username" and "password".
5 - Now go to the section of the firewall (depending on the router, the location may vary... it can be in the parental control, on the filter, etc.. Read your router's manual to know the exact location) and add the following addresses to be blocked:
- “auth.np.ac.playstation.net "
- "ena.net.playstation.net"
- "mercury.dl.playstation.net"
- "nsx.np.dl.playstation.net"
- "tmdb.np.dl.playstation.net"
- "us.np.stun.playstation.net"
- "xmb.dl.playstation.net"

(your router now will block queries coming from these addresses )

======================

Notes:
- With a CFW, you can not go on PSN (for now at least).

If you try to run a game and it goes to a "Black Screen", try this manager
Instructions for installing Multiman:
Click here to see full text

1 - Copy files "multiMAN ver 2.00.03 FULL (20110529_223000) (with SHOWTIME).pkg" and "BDEMU-355KM_v2.pkg" (you can download them from the website) to the root of the flash drive.
2 - Insert the flash drive in one of the USB ports of the PS3.
3 - Go to "*Install Packages Files" and press "X".
4 - Install "multiMAN ver 2.00.03 FULL (20110529_223000) (with SHOWTIME).pkg”. After the installation is complete, press “O”.
5 - Now go again to "*Install Packages Files", press "X", but now install the "BDEMU-355KM_v2.pkg”. After the installation is complete, press “O”.
6 - Turn off the PS3 by pressing the "PlayStation" button and select "System Shutdown".
7 - Turn on the PS3.
8 - Start Multiman (it will appear 3 conditions to use the software, select "Yes" in all of them).(if you get a bit confuse with the design, just press "L1" to change the view).
9 - Insert a original game in your PS3 (you will need this to run the games in Multiman as originals).
10 - Select the game you want to play and press "X" (it will ask if you want to boot the game directly ... select "No" ... The Multiman will now exit automatically).
11 - You will now see the game that you chose in the place that were supposed to be the original game that you previously inserted in your PS3 (if the game that you chose on Multiman has extras, you'll see two disks, one with the game and the other with the extras). Press "X" on the game disc and enjoy
================================================== ==========================

Notes:
- It is necessary to remind people that this is something illegal and as such do it at your own risk.
- There are people who are complaining that the backups do not work (they all jumped steps). Do not skip steps. Follow all instructions to the letter.

I want to thanks the hacker “Kmeaw" for his customized PUP.
My thanks also go to "Rogero" for the "Rogero Manager" and to "Deank" for "Multiman".
And since we're in thanks time ... I think i deserve it ... because I had the patience to create a tutorial that is understandable to any "computer layman" : p

cod game should work fine. if it is asking you to update then go to your game data folder and delete any updates for the game. la noire requires you to have update 1.01 installed for it to work correctly.

I have a problem that's eating my soul away. I have tried every possible method to get lego star wars:the complete saga to work, but failed. Tried through normal method, XMB, permissions fix, eboot fixes but no. I've tested lots of games and only this one doesn't work. Has anyone actually run it?
