O.o i skipped over the last 5 or so pages because wtf? Gitbrew doesn't care about piracy, but that doesn't mean the stuff we release can't be used for other things. The documentation that we release is what we find. Dig through it all and you'll eventually find a gold bone. Otheros was our main priority because of graf and glevand, now that graf is dealing with legal issues he has stepped away from the scene. Yes the ps3 scene started with backup managers and the likes but because of that we've almost completely unlocked the ps3. Only a few road blocks are in the way before it's fully open. We could care less if you pirate, buy the games used from gamestop, or borrow them from friends. The way you got ahold of games is your business and as such we don't care about it. We're still documenting everything we find regardless of what it is. So stop saying gitbrew is slowing down research and trying to "stop" piracy. Cracking open npdrm, and other parts (psx/psp emulator) It's not on our todo list or if it is, it has the lowest priorities. Also! rsx driver IS working on the freebsd live cd. So check it out. It only works at 1920x1280 though. In the end, do what you want cause a pirate is free etc etc. Back to developing otheros++ /end rant

Ps: Talking **** about otheros++ will make us go out of the way to NOT do the projects you want. So fair warning. Also bug testing and reporting in the irc greatly helps and speeds up the process. So if everyone came to the damn irc and started telling us what is buggy then the process would take half the time and would work better -.- (lightyear i'm talking about you and fc12, don't blame us for you not being able to untar~ js)

My thoughts exactly.

If all they are going to get is ungrateful people bitvhing every time they release, why should devs release in the first place? The end result is going to be the same.

Well, atleast something would be happening and I think people would complain less. After all, an endless circle is better than standing in place, isn't it? Don't get me wrong, I don't care about it too much, my second PS3 should be here next week since I decided to be prepared for all those games that are coming out soon (DARK SOULS!!!) instead of complaining in the forums like a little b|tch.

Idk why someone would complain...if its going to come out its going to come out the same time it would whether someone complained or not...all these ****s need to quit being cheap and buy another ps3...ive had one since DC universe came out lol(wanted to play soo bad lol) I mean i would like to use just one ps3 but im patiently waiting and biding my time ...omg i really want obviously new CFW but an Nintendo 64 Emu and a Dreamcast EMU...soooooo bad anyone know any new news on the Nintendo? Cuz im pretty sure the Dreamcast was abandoned. sry off topic lol

It's a never ending story with this..i already posted a suggestion to do an sticky saying no CFW FOR 3.71.

I support the devs, but the questions about this it's like a friggin zombie infection! and not even question a retorical sentence ASKING on a bad way for CFW 3.71!!! When the only choice we have is downgrade our PS3 and be on 3.55 (or lower) and put an CFW.

I will be honest, I would like 3.7 cfw/MFW. In fact I would love it, and it's not impossible either, HOWEVER.... devs get completely discouraged when they make other useful things only to be pelted with demands for cfw. Devs don't want to be typecast (look up typecast if you don't know what it means) for their work
On cfw, they want to be known for making a difference.
Take the psp scene for instance, DarkAlex is a great dev, and highly regarded in the psp scene. The last known CFW he and team m33 have released is 5.00m33-6. Why do you think that is? DarkAlex made other useful apps, he even made it so you, yes you, the average everyday Joe can unbrick their PSP with a utility solely by purchasing a pandora battery which was needed to execute his program. However, besides legal threats by Sony there is also speculation he left the scene because people kept pelting him with cfw demands. This is what is happening in the ps3 scene tenfold. Now I'm sure someone will release a higher cfw eventually but b****ing and moaning won't get it done, these guys have lives and they don't have to answer to anyone, so if no one wants to work on a 3.70 cfw or even release the keys for that matter, it is their choice and we need to respect that. It's a huge responsibility.


Before I end this I want to tell a true story. I'm a mod in another site, actually two other sites. Both times I didn't want it, wasn't gunning for it, didn't expect it. And that's why I was chosen, because I was someone who could keep control, instead of begging for it. That old saying your parents used to tell you about rewards being earned, not begged/entitled wasn't a load of crap they were telling you just cuz, that actually is how the real world works. You aren't entitled to cfw, and you never will be. But if you want a higher cfw I'm sure the devs would be more willing if they felt appreciated and actually felt like it would be a great venture for the scene. Right now they sure as hell don't feel that way and I can't say I blame them, and hey, No piece of homebrew is ever useless. If it looks like a cheap piece of software easily made in adobe flash to you then please keep your opinion to yourself. Homebrew is a labor of love to the dev (yes I know that sounds cheesy but you get the point) and the time spent developing said homebrew they will never get back, so the last thing they went is to be belittled by your comments. You may not like the homebrew, and That's all fine and dandy but others do, I love those little homebrew games, and it shows talents of the dev to make neat and innovative games and other homebrew. So to end this I'd just like to recap: Stop whining, wait patiently, and keep the trolling to yourself.

I still find it hard to believe that ANYONE would become a hacker of any sort if they had a problem with people giving them crap for it. I mean, it is the internet...you are going to get trolls. Maybe they won't be on one website or another because of posting rules, but you are always going to have people calling you names and saying you are wasting their time. Even DeanK has critics, and he has one of the few homebrews that noobs asking for 3.7X CFW would want immediately.
