I switched back to Cobra FW, but I have sad news about the ISOs made with multiMAN =(. When I tried to open them with Cobra manager this pops up:

This PS3 iso is invalid. It was probably dumped using linux. PS3 ISOs must be dumped using Cobra Manager.
Now I understand what you said about the encryption and such. Probably we will be able to do more when JFW DH is released.

I will continue doing research, this time I will copy one of the generated ISO by multiMAN to my PC and then I will verify it with AnyDVD HD and see if they have any kind of encryption, then I will compare with an ISO generated by Cobra.

EDIT: I have verified one of the PS3 ISOs dumped by multiMAN with ImgBurn and compared to an PS3 ISO made with Cobra's Genps3iso.exe tool. The ISO generated with multiMAN is [ISO9660, Joilet, UDF 2.50][MODE1/2048] and the one made with Cobra's tool is [ISO9660, Joilet][MODE1/2048] as you can see one is UDF 2.50, and the one generated with Cobra tool is not UDF 2.50.

I still have to transfer an ISO dumped by Cobra Manager from the PS3 to see if it have something special.

I mounted both ISOs with Alcohol 120%, and AnyDVD HD didn't provide any info related to protection, this because it seems the program only scan for protection if its a Movie / Video disc.

Im willing to switch back to Kmeaw for any future test if you need, is it possible to modify your ISO generation code to make the ISOs Non-UDF 2.50? maybe that's the problem with Cobra Manager not accepting them?.

SeeYa!

Hi Deank, everything ok?
I was testing the option to take Scrennshot of the games and every photo I shot appears the logo of MultiMam
Is there a option to remove this logo in the pictures?

@deank ,
Just reporting a minor aesthetic issue that I guess should be easy to fix...

If the motion background is enabled, and the Screensaver option under the Settings column is "disabled"; when the Screensaver is turned on, it shows the motion background with the sparks.

IMHO, the option that turns on the Screensaver should show only the motion background (without the sparks, if the Screensaver setting is disabled and the motion background is enabled), and show the sparks or the raindrops, if the motion background is disabled.

I just wanted to let you know about it... thanks for share your great work with us!

Well I just made a comparison with the same game dumps, Deus Ex Human Revolution (3.65 FW game). One ISO was made while I was on KMEAW using multiMAN, and now while on Cobra FW, I dumped it using Cobra Manager.

My theory about UDF 2.50 is not valid since both backups are [ISO9660, Joilet, UDF 2.50][MODE1/2048].

So I decided to make a file Hash comparison to see if they are identical (wish I assume they are obviously not).

multiMAN ISO:

Size: 9.71 GB (10,428,022,784 bytes)

CRC32: ADB6A229
MD5: 1363C89BFD2E0DA598EA41E39A1FF9E7
SHA-1: 0206A64AF78F8BDE403BD7D0693A07CB77A1D083

Cobra ISO:

Size: 9.71 GB (10,428,022,784 bytes)

CRC32: 4995910A
MD5: 0E8A512C165B6EB1FDDA675BB17C5B47
SHA-1: 7A0D024E7D1BAE1810EAD1550E42610833B5260B
I did a quick comparison using HxD and the first 3.25 MB (3,407,872 bytes) are identical on both ISOs, after that point things doesn't look the same anymore.

If I have more details about what exactly is the difference between the 2 ISOs Ill post back.

Btw, an off-topic side note, when I insert Deus Ex Human Revolution original disc while in Cobra FW (or even the ISO), I tried to play the game (which is 3.65 FW) and it didn't tell me it required the update, it just went through like if it was going to load and then after some seconds it returned with an error to the XMB. If I do this on KMEAW it will ask for the update tho'.

EDIT:

Hey Dean I been doing more investigation, and one thing is for sure about the ISO generated by multiMAN, I can't find anything through Hex that looks like its uncompressed [?]. Now check this out!, after inspecting the generated ISO by Cobra Manager, I can find uncompressed / plain data, that if I wanted I could just copy using Hex and paste it as a new file.

Here you have an example chunk taken from the ISO generated by Cobra:

PHP Code:
.......Å...............½FACEÂ...........Eidos Interactive Corp.....Deus Ex 3.è.....................FxObject..H...........FxAnim..T...........FxAnimSet.._...........FxNamedObject..d...........FxName..m...........FxAnimCurve..u...........FxAnimGroup..........sha2_fw01_3tr_storylimb_001....caucasian_01_head_a....SHA2_FW01_3TR_STORYLIMB_001....Phoneme_Bump....Phoneme_New....Phoneme_Roar....Phoneme_Fave....Phoneme_Though....Phoneme_Size....Phoneme_Eat....Phoneme_Church....Phoneme_Oat....Phoneme_Earth....Phoneme_Ox....Phoneme_Cage....Phoneme_Told....Phoneme_Wet
I can access many other stuff from that ISO via Hex. But the ISO generated by multiMAN doesn't have stuff like that, I have even searched for short text strings without success.

Here you have another of my theories (maybe my previous theory about UDF 2.50 could be considered), probably what Cobra does is take the header information from the BD disc and then save the actual disc data as a regular ISO9660, then of course when this ISO is open it will say it has UDF 2.50 and everything else, because of the header found around the first 3.25 MB of the file.

Or maybe UDF isn't the problem, and is just that Cobra Manager dumps the ISO without compression [?].

Is there any other method that you could use to dump ISOs via multiMAN without any kind of compression?

SeeYa!
^^

I already explained it to you, but you probably miss the point.

The ISO generated by multiMAN will have EBOOT.BIN, all .sprx and all *.self and all *.sdata files encrypted. That's the only difference.

If you wish, HEX view EBOOT.BIN from the cobra ISO and from mM's ISO and you'll understand what I mean.

Most of the files will be 1:1, but not the mentioned above. As I said, there is no need for you to waste more time on that

I can make multiMAN generate the ISO with these files decrypted, by replacing the encrypted sectors/data with decrypted data (read from the files). To do that I need some kind of simple ISO parser, to find at which sector each file starts.

Btw in 02.07.04 I changed a bit the 'bad-sector-retry-procedure' - should be better now. Also for fat ps3s - if SD/SDHC/CF/MS/MSPRO cards are present, they'll show in XMMB as browsable devices. Sparks removed when screensaver kicks in with motion background and also added insert/eject detection, which would reinit/authenticate the bd-rom drive once you insert a disc while multiMAN is working. Also, if you burn a (decrypted) game to DVD/DVDRW/BDR/BDRE you can start it from multiMAN by pressing "X" in XMMB when the disc is selected.

Cool man! I finally get it LOL! Thanks for the explanation, after opening "DFEngine.sprx" from 'Deus Ex' ISOs with my Hex editor, I could see the encryption on those specific files .

The idea to get the decrypted files using that method sounds good.

And great updates to multiMAN!

SeeYa!
