3.41 or 3.55 - Which Firmware Are You On
On the PS1 Backups running on multiMAN thread, i noticed quite a few people ask if the method works on 3.41, so this poll is to ask who is still on 3.41 and why, im asking why, because i don't understand why people just don't update to 3.55.
Personally i updated to 3.55, its a more reliable firmware. EDIT: 3.15 i can understand as people want to hold onto OtherOS, 3.41 CFW, i cant understand, even more, i don't get why people are still using Jailbreak/Clone Dongles on 3.41. Last edited by GregoryRasputin; 09-28-2011 at 12:45 PM. |

4 consoles on 3.15
The only thing needed to patch yet, is add all those keys from 3.56 in appldr and patch the versioncheck (which btw are all in wiki) >> http://pastebin.com/uWUqGXwx Some people are still on 3.41 because they are developers and need ps3load to work (which until recently did not work on 3.50++) About your mention of ps1 not working: ps1 emu build numbers : 3.15: ps1emu:5573, ps1netemu:5712, ps1newemu:5174 3.41: ps1emu:6377, ps1netemu:6520, ps1newemu:6378 3.55 : ps1emu:6555, ps1netemu:6679, ps1newemu:6556 when using ps1newemu, it even makes less sense, because even 3.72 is based on the 2.02 branch (ps1newemu:6705). I think the difference is mostly in the payloads that MM injects on those firmwares GregoryRasputin - not specifically the emulators itself (ofcourse easily proven by taking the 3.55 emu files and resign them as 3.15/3.41)

i was on 3.41 with a teensy2.0++..but i got tiered of hitting the eJect button and powering on All the time..i still like 3.41..But that was the past..the Future is looking Better?We All hope....lol

Voted for first thing. lol Yeah I've been on 3.55 cfw for over a year I think now. Or close to it. yeah I can't understand how people are actually still on 3.41...how can they even do it? lol Maybe they are nervous about installing cfw? I can't imagine why because so many have done it as did I and had no problems. Unless the ones on 3.41 are on a system that may end up bricking? Perhaps they need a list of models of the ps3 that are known to work with installing cfw. Which I do believe can be found using google. lol Unless these people are new to the scene and don't understand it as much? I don't know. The ones on 3.15 I think are pretty lucky but also I can't even imagine being on that because no games have been patched for 3.15...all games are patched only for 3.41 and 3.55...so if anything I am highly surprised to see anyone on 3.15 still. Let alone 3.41 of all fw. I would think that whole dongle pressing reset button and such would get annoying after that long of time. heh...And since the ps1 backup method is working on 3.55 I would imagine people wanting to update now to cfw. And even when that JFW is released I think people are going to want to update to that as well...

I was using my iphone as the jailbreak device for ages and hitting the power button then the reset(having to walk over to the ps3 manually turn it on) nevermind pulling the cable out and rebooting the iphone and on occasions the jailbreak didnt work and Id have to start all over again, screw that... was good at the time... but we've moved on from those days, open your eyes get yourself a well deserved update... the ps3 deserves it :-)..
Im reffering to any jailbreak device in general... I know the iphone wasnt as reliable, but manually powering on and hitting eject everytime is a nightmare in my book. yea and im lazy  how come know one has ever made a dongle free version of 3.41, like the 3.55 firmware? or they have and i missed it? Not quite a year yet, @kakaroto released his CFW on 4th of January 2011 GeoHot on the 8th of January 2011, Wutangrza and Waninkoko on the 17th of January 2011, Waninkoko releases version 2 of his CFW on 29th of January 2011, read more here: http://ps3history.com/?page_id=27

I'm on 3.41. I'm using a teensy 2.0 with Hermes 4b 3.55 spoof and Open manager. Been stable as hell, never had any problems with any game on this setup. Just didn't want to learn about installing lv2 patches and hitting select x and what not with multiman. Sure I have to do the power eject thing but then, smooth sailing all the way.
Might have to update now though with the ps1 backup only working on 3.55....damn |
