Some games like Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics, I could see that the multiman does not recognize the disk. When checking your files on the PC, I noticed that these files were hidden and I believe that for this reason the multiman is not able to recognize the psone disc.

I found another way to run these disks. I ran a disc of any psone, eject the disc and put the damn disc with hidden files and in XMB (by pressing the ps button) I choose reset command and I can ran without problems, including recognizing the memory cards.

Sorry for my English. So I intend to help with this information.

hello there i am having similar problems. im trying to play final fantasy 8 which has hidden files and xmmb isnt recognizing like you said.

what method did you use to get it working to be able to use memory card.

I've tried coping the files on the pc and unchecking the hidden box and then burn like that but it hasnt worked for me..

can you possible help me out please

Requirements:

- Kmeaw FW 3.55
- multiMAN v02.07.06
- A PS1 backup (CD-R) that IS detected in multiMAN XMMB as a PS1 game (not file manager).
- The PS1 backup (CD-R) that is NOT detected.

Method:

- While in multiMAN, make sure no disc is inserted (just in case).
- Insert the backup disc that gets detected by multiMAN as a PS1 disc.
- Press and choose Load.
- Wait for the game to start normally, to make sure wait until something from the game is on screen.
- Press the "PS" button
- 2 screens will come up, we dont want the regular XMB screen so press "PS" again
- While the lower menu is up Press the Eject button on your console (don't turn it off or anything, lets just get the disc out)
- Remove the disc, and insert the disc that does NOT get detected.
- Wait at least 10 seconds.
- Select "Reset the game" from the menu and hit "yes".
- Done!, the PlayStation boot logo should appear and the game should be loaded!

SeeYa!
^^

I think anyway...because then you'd load your game I think?
Ya SOME of them. Like FF maybe. But a few like mgs, requires a mid game swop where you can't just load the save game from disk1 which means we won't be able to play from disk 2 onwards. Oh well. Ways are always waiting to be found

Well stevo so far from my experience testing games with this, the ps3 does not check disks when the disk swap pops up like the ps2 did.

Every game i've tested so far disk swapping has worked fine with or without the option to save at the menu.

Try some games yourself, all I did was download save files from gamefaqs for later disks and loaded them on the wrong disks to force a disk change screen. Everytime the PS3 has accepted my backups no questions asked at these screens.

Better yet....play the game on ps1 or ps2 right before you have to do the disc swapping...do it on that then save it on the next disc then load it on ps3. Done deal. And of course transfiring the save file using a Memory card adapter to get it onto the ps3's VMC

Pretty much, that's what I do (with IMGBURN @ 2x) ...seems to work best with bin & cue, some ISO's worked though.
