NO. That isn't normal. Its wrong. Its exactly the kind of differences i get.

ĄDO NOT ERASE OR WRITE THE MEMORY UNTIL YOUR DUMPS HAVE THE SAME MD5!

judges told me that some people with dumping problems connect more GND lines of the PS3 to common GND with teensy++ and that solved the problem.

I removed all wiring from the PS3 i was having troubles with, so for now, no more field experiments.

Perhaps i will gain strength again and resolder all wiring and keep trying it.

Hope you can make it, and please share all your experiments and results.

Cheers.

Today i solder three thicker wire on three different gnd points, but no luck. I think four gnd wire is more than enough. I solder now 2 times on ps3 mainboard, cut the wires smaller three times and solderin them three times on teensy. The last one on the back side from teensy... Thats s uck s, i dont know whats the problem is.

maybe i solder one wire to gnd from teensy and connect them to a gnd power socket, i think more GND can i not connect

Be careful guys... just because the multimeter detects continuity betweem solder points doesnt mean the wiring/soldering is good. Check that the solder flows smoothly onto each wire (if the solder falls down rapidly before meeting the wire, it could be a dry joint). Also be careful not to twist and bend the wires too much while installing/using the teensy (a small crack in the copper might not be detected by multimeter, but will cause enough capacitance to cause the teensy to malfunction).

I'm hypothesising (I have no means to test) that you could get a teensy with small capacitance problems to start working just by bringing the operating frequency down.

Edit: Actually, the best way to troubleshoot capacitance problems would be with a good oscilloscope though most ppl won't have access to one. Check that all lines produce square waves. If you see pointy waves or noise in the signal then you know that line is having a problem.

Edit 2: Removed some statements to avoid repeating what CrackMyDay has already said.

True, except for RY/BY..

I want to say that in my case i never had the same MD5 from dumped files, so im having troubles to read too.
For those who cant write the upper chip in Samsung K8Q2815UQB, check out my experiment:
I unplugged line A22 from Teensy++ and get 3.3V from line. So, the only way to write the upper chip was to put a series resistor in A22 to GND.
Shouldn't be required (check your eMail). Too bad that you've disconnected Teensy from your troublesome console...

************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************

Just finished NORway v0.4 beta 10. Implemented CrackMyDay's excellent bulk writing method, which reduces programming time for "writeword" mode from 60mins to less than 10mins. "writewordubm" mode also doubled its speed (<10mins now).

But the most important thing is that I've found a bug in the RY/BY wait function. Before checking RY/BY state it requires a delay of 90ns. Made it very unreliable.

Although this version is totally untested except by me of course.

As always, before trying to write, make sure that your dump is perfect!

Here's the link:

See "changes.txt" for new write commands if you're not familiar with previous betas.

Please post your results... Thanks.

I must insist. ALL lines including RY/BY.
If you leave RY/BY unconnected, well... look at NORway.c:

CONT_PORT |= (1<<CONT_RYBY); //enable pull up
You have a pull up forcing high level(= READY) state on that line when unplugged. You'll need a pull down, not up, to truly get RY/!BY chip status..

I've successfully downgraded a SLIM yesterday. Now i resoldered the FAT one, and im trying to revive this bricked one right now.
