Is google chrome a virus?

According to Micro$oft it is

http://fr.zicos.com/tech/i26162869-M...s-a-Virus.html

Side note: every time I open Google Chrome my Directory Opus opens a screen I have to insert a disk. So maybe it is really a virus
And with all the spyware inside google software every google product is a virus

Yea, I have had issues with google chrome video lags, and chrome hang ups. I switched back to FireFox, and everything was back to normal. And my OS started to act up on me. Probably Microsoft may have a point with it being a virus.

Never any problems here ... Use-> ( Malwarebytes ) its legit & best virus + rouge app/maleware app i ever used ! It will detect almost everything bad on a pc .Maybe you have something on your pc & you don't know it.
I had fixed many fake rouge av programs that block you from getting online ,etc ..
The kind that install themselves on a pc when you click on a webpage or out of nowhere ,just installs .
Try the free version www.malwarebytes.org

I might as well be a virus, judging on how many PCs I find it installed on and the owner has no idea how it got there

It isn't a virus because it does not self reproduce, but it does fall under the category of malware since it slows down your computer and often installs without permission as a part of some other installation.

Then again, MS security essentials installs without permission both with windows and with windows updates...and it slows down your system without any benefit whatsoever so it is malware as well.

It wouldn't be the first time, McAfee and Norton have been doing it for years. Heck, even AVG told me that SuperUser.APK was a virus, yet it missed three other test viruses that I placed in the same folder.

There was also quite a famous virus/trojan which would remove other viruses on the host machine when it infected them, essentially giving itself a nice clean PC to get up to mischief on.

Can't remember which one it was now /brainfart

Just do yourself the favor & get Deep freeze. Never worry about a virus/spyware ,etc!
Best app ever used to secure all my computers for over 5yrs+ .You cant beat this !
If something gets on your PC while deep freeze is enabled = Restart PC & everything is gone ! Every hacker/Everyone should use this, save yourself the headache & surf the net worry free. How hard can it be, all you have to do is freeze any hard drive & thaw out the drive only to make changes on that drive There is even a network station type for multiple PCs. Try it you will never regret this,i swear this is better than AV ,lol I have the full retail version & i have not had a virus or anything in over 5+yrs !
