There is something that I need to understand. This piece of hardware let us downgrade our "original" nor? Or just uses the "other" nor to flash whatever firmware we have? Will I be able to, for example, buy this set, open my PS3 use the clip on nor, downgrade my PS3 than give the hardware to a friend, without making any hole on the PS3's front case?

Yes. you can open up your ps3 slim and flash it to a custom firmware then disconnect it and give it to your friend to downgrade his. but this only works for NOR memory consoles so all the ps3 slims and a few ps3 phats

They say it works with all nor memory so that would be every slim model
