Sorry if this has already been asked, but is there any way of backing up saves that you normally cant via the XMB ?, examples would be Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5.

halp!

Hey.
there is a buch of us who is trying to upload the new save data to a non-jailbroken PS3 via pendrive. This is not going to work out.

I have a non-jailbroken PS3 and a question, there is a way to upload the save data on the non-jailbroken PS3?

I´ve already done everything right, like potaholic said. The only thing I have to do is upload this save data of Gran Turismo in my sad non-jailroken PS3.

(save data modified to work with my account: http://www.mediafire.com/?9mtmqe857noein1 )

What if anyone upload this save data to a jailbroken PS3 and then export it and send me back that save data. would it work?

I will be forever thankful if somebody help me. I lost my GT5 save data and do not want to start over again.

My e-mail is mayaibuki @ japan.com

The way around the "corrupted save" error was I had to copy the folder directly using Comgenie Filemanager in Red Mode. FTP and gameOS refused to copy it.
This got the GameFAQS ff13 save working for me, and let me re-save it.
I got max crystarium pts and thats all I really wanted. Thanks for this tool!!
what folder did you copied it?
i tried to copy it to dev_hdd0/home/00000002/savedata but it won't show up in saved data utility or when i try load game
game is also ff 13 and saved game is from gamefaqs region is europe (mrtc-00003)

yes it will work if it doesnt corrupt the save. most of the time it corrupts the save tho.

I used a disk enclosure to connect the hard disk of the PS3 to the computer in order to upload the Save Data directly, but the computer does not recognize the hard disk

I need help. I even buy that enclosure just to try that. I would even pay you (paypal) if you help me and it works.

It shouldnt. Who told you that it should? Why don't you make an investigation before you pay for stuff?
You CANNOT read the contents of a PS3 HDD on a PC.
It does not support the filesystem PS3 uses plus it cant pass the encryption of Sony.

You are rite…
Anyway the enclosure cost only $5 USD.

I have another idea.
What if I upload the corrupted save data to a jailbroken PS3, then play a little bit, save it and copy it to a USB; so I can upload it to my non-jailbroken PS3.

Would that work?

1. You CAN'T copy corrupt data.
2. Even if you do it in a manual way, like 99% of possibilities is that it won't load it.
3. Actually why did I answer to this? Instead of asking me, why don'you just try it?!

Unhappy

Didn't work for me with Soul Calibur IV.

Did everything as explained on the first post but with no avail.
At first the save was corrupted and at game launch it would say that.

Than I tried copying the param.sfo again and the game launched well, only to say the game save as corrupted when the game tried saving over it...
