[General Plot]

Instead of providing full backwards support with emulation and thus providing a full HD resolution with all PS2 games as promised, Sony's decided to turn the old games into cash cows. This really is no surprise. After seeing the rehashes of the Sly Collection and God Of War, this was only a matter of time really, not that it sucks any less though.

I agree with above post but at same time I'm also excited to see this happen. Its great news that we will actually see PS2 games on non-BC consoles. Lets just hope that they release all their top games, if not entire (or majority) of back catalogue.

Nobody granted that for now. They are yet to come out and clarify this obscurity in the public. I wonder if they do confirm this, will this mean they have upgraded the full software emulator? Will they do something like PSP minis that come together with special plugins for the emulation? Or they will use something like wrappers with also the important files like a whole emulator dedicated to each game?

EDIT: All versions of Maximo: Ghosts to Glory DO NOT work on the full software emulator, so it enforces the fact that they need to make a clarification on that issue.

I think it is cheaper for me to turn on my PS2 and change the video channel on the TV. I can get the games almost for free at the stores these days and the best games I already own
I'm not gonna pay another license for a game I already own $ony, no way ....

I don't see dualboot as a good option with all those obstacles to be honest. I see it more as a ''better than nothing sollution''. These products are more like ''Hey you are on latest OFW? No worries, you can go back to 3.55 and put a CFW!'' than being ''You don't like to have to choose between OFW and CFW? Our product is the answer.''. Somebody that really wants that can just buy a spare PS3 (used or not). Not to mention the fact that most of us agree that we won't miss the nonsense TOS filled PSN. Most of us dont agree with it's TOS so I dont see even on OFW having that option! XD
Also before I forget...
Eww, what a bad selection of games to launch this service. Sony also lost their taste after their brain... Oh dear, that's sad!... XD

Awesome now let's pray our devs figure out how to use sonys native ps2 emulator to launch our own ps2 backups like they did on the PSP and the xperia play

its all money with sony as useal fs, ill not be buying them for sure. cheaper to buy a second hand ps2 with tons of games off gumtree then give them the money
