How to make fake ps3 controller work in CFW ?

Well yea - the thread title basically tells you guys what i'm looking for ;D

Just wanted to know if you have to somehow look into the ps3 files and just switch them with older files? Like in the cinavia patch?

So the thirdparty controllers work again?

Thanks for lettin' me know ;D

I know that some of the 3rd party controllers have firmware updates that get around this...but if it is one of those illegal clones you are probably out of luck...get yourself a USB extension cable and deal with it.

My bad I haven't notice it was a fake, but it looked exactly the same as the original. Guess I'll buy myself a new original controller. This is what happens when you want to go cheap.

Downgrading to 3.41 will give you back support for a lot of 3rd party controllers that Sony blocked in 3.42 and later. Not worth the downgrade though IMO.

cheep as 32 quid now in some shops, even tesco sell em.
but i have a mate with one that didnt work well so i kept connecting the usb ans diconnecting it till it worked.
or try connecting the usb to it,THEN turn on the ps3 and then disconnect it.worked for my mates in the past.

Not your fault for going cheap...you got scammed; it happens a lot. Heck, one of the sites advertised on this very forum sells the illegal clones and claims they are the real thing.

This could be a way out. But if this problem is so old, why nobody is trying to solve it by modding the fake pad or CFW in order to get it work. For me is not a problem to buy a new pad, it's too easy to buy and forget, but It would be great if somebody will try to make a tutorial on how to fix this.
