I chose no.

~My own belief~

Being a descendant of slaves, I feel the 2 greatest things that happen for me was President Lincoln and being able to go to school (university) for whatever I wanted. I was always taught through my family, school and role models I looked up to that freedom is a great and beautiful thing. Don't take it for granted and don't waste it.

Some of the protesters have valid causes but most are just looking to blame someone else for their failures of why they don't have what the fat cats have.

I say, the protesters against fatcats, should get their weight up. The narcissistic, petty, crybaby excuses and blaming everyone else for why they don't have is weak.

Capatalism. I'm an advocate.

Once again, this is coming from a descendant of slaves.

well US and the UK are different, i know for a fact things are messed up here in britain. police forces are private companies that make profit out of what they do (fixed penalty notices, fines etc) governments are also private companies that are parent companies to the police force and local council's here.
every new government we have do nothing to help the 99% who arent the rich "elite".
none of this news appears on news as they are big corporations who risk losing their power if the majority of people turn against them.
simple fact is the banks here make money out of thin air (raising inflation) and then loan this to us and the government and make interest. (money which isnt even theirs in the first place as they create money that isnt physically there).
so we are forever in debt to the banks and the elite rich (debt is power) and this will never change the way the UK is run...
look up "zeitgeist" which explains this very well

Yes I do but protesting will do no good because Americans do not stand together anymore. We just don't care, we are to busy living our fast paced lives and face-booking and tweeting. Meanwhile the fat-cats get richer and control the system. Politicians and wall street bankers are causing our country to fall from from greatness. What our country stands for is great but our system has gotten twisted and corrupt. Just my opinion

That's called the Federal Reserve here in America. But add that ability to have a chance to compete vs once upon a time my race wasn't even considered, I'll take. I know plenty of decendants from slaves that have become successful. From my very 'hood'. I know plenty of immigrants (good friends and in my opinion, way smarter than MOST Americans) who have come here and won at the American Dream like it was childs play.

Being rich or wanting to be rich, I'm not talking Buffet, Gates, Jobs money, is a good thing. What's bad about that? It just seems that those that want to impose on that, want to be the "judge and jury" of the rich. Plenty of societies have fallen by that very exact theory. What happen to the core values of being an adult or adultminded, pre-18 for the youth, that became millionaires. That would make them just as worst as though that's hoarding the 'so-called' money.

Zietgeist was entertaining.

America was built on theivery. Always has been.

But when you compare it to IRAN, CHINA, CUBA etc, etc....I'll take USA all-day.

I had to vote partially because I really don't know about what's going on except that there's a movement and none of the big media companies in the US were covering it for some reason or another.

I do believe that corporate Canada/America have drowned society.

I feel we are missing part of the story. it's not just that 1% hold most of the wealth its that with that wealth, corporations use it to control much of politics. they use their money to buy politicians and pass legislation that most regular people don't agree with

I think the perception that people are protesting because they aren't rich is a bit off. I was under the impression that the large majority of these people are protesting because the rich pay a lower percentage tax-wise than the common man. In this regard, I completely agree with the protesters. Taxes should be fair, and the system shouldn't be slanted to benefit the absurdly wealthy. I remember when Ronald Reagan said the same things Obama is saying now, and the Republicans cheered him for it; but today Obama is called a Socialist. Sadly, I feel that greed has corrupted our entire political process in the USA, and I'm not sure what we can do to fix it (aside from outright banning money in politics). I support the protests, I'm all for the freedom to demonstrate.

I also think the NYPD need to lay off the protesters. I've seen a lot of abuse coming from them, and most of it was not warranted.
