I wonder how good PS2 games will be on non bc PS3s. I don't have to worry about it cause I have a bc PS3 as my second PS3

Trust you because why? Do you work for sony? Have you programed a ps2 emulator? Do you know the inner workings of sony's development process? Contrary to what you may believe software development is very costly.

I guess i really don't care about ps2 emulation on ps3 anyways. My pc will play almost every ps2 game i own at 1080p+ including SoTC. They completely reprogrammed SoTC and they were only able to get it to run at 720P!

The PS2 games will work just fine. Each PS2 game comes with its own emulator which was perfected for that game. It will work exactly the same on any PS3 console. BC consoles will not be using the emotion chip when playing a PS2 downloaded game. It will use the provided emulator.

This is what I speculated too but Sony didn't confirm if its true or how it's done at all, and I guess Sony can't slip out of it without giving a response how it's done. Now how much portion of truth their response will have it's another theory! XD

This means either ps2 emulator works or the code for the game was re-written to be playable as a psn title.

Who said I was in doubt? I'm confused about that part. Also you can take some of your own medicine. ie when in doubt rip people off for typing abbreviations like "gna". Also apple improve their products they definitely don't sell the same thing. Lastly thanx for proving my point about the code and labor involved in writing it. My argument was that it doesn't cost sony anything to have it implemented. Programmers for sony do a lot of programming not just ps2 emulation so they would have gotten paid anyway. If your argument was that sony pays the programmers to put the code in and that's why they didn't put it in...well that just makes no sense. They work for sony. They'll get payed anyway

Exactly! They're doing it the same way Microsoft is doing it for xbox games on the 360, you need to download a "profile" before you stick Halo 1 on there.... Although I believe 360s come with the Halo1 profile already, it would be nice to be able to just download the profile to play your disc, but ehh, if they need to put it on an eboot at least it's a start. I can see one game this would definitely make people anxious for. San Andreas! It may not be the best game out there buy damn, everybody lives that game, and it's on the Marketplace, slightly modified but pretty much the same game, it's a port not a remake, so I'm sure if it came to ps3 everybody (or at least those who can't find it chucked in their closet and don't have a BC ps3 anyway) would want to play it.
