I do agree that everyone deserves to protest, if those that are protesting are doing it for a sincere and legitimate reason, like freedom, human rights etc.

Id like to say this is my favourite thread on the forum, people are actually discussing a subject like mature adults and there is no flaming, this thread is FTW, thanks for creating it @Mr.Goodfrag

well I dunno about you, but I'm a bit more informed now. Thank you!

I still don't know a lot, but, I agree with the fact that the corporations have had too much of a stranglehold on society and people. It's just a few people in the world, like all the other bad dudes everywhere. Except these people wield pens and keyboards. And expensive ties. And even more expensive suits and adult diapers.

However, well, I kind of fail to see how these people are spoiled brats. I also don't know whether it's right to compare this demonstration to others in third world countries because quite frankly, they haven't evolved like other advanced societies on the earth. And maybe, if they do in the future, the same problems that America and the UK, Greece, Russia had/have. And we'll be debating this in another lifetime.

the real people behind these protests aren't spoiled brats, but a bunch of people don't know what is going on and are just joining in and spreading what they think the message is and making it hard for the real message to be heard

You are going to party if they kick you and your family out of your house because you can't pay the mortgage anymore?

As I can remember Ireland isn't the booming country anymore it was 10-15 years back. We here in the Netherlands aren't that much better (just a little, thanks to the Germans). For the next year we know a lot of people will lose over 10% of their income here and I think the same goes for Ireland. and for the second time the bankers with their stupid bonuses are involved and again our tax money is needed to save their money-hungry asses. Some people kill themselves because of their dark financial future/ bankruptcy. The economic war isn't a childish game....

If you don't want to see the problems Greg, just close your eyes

lol i actually wondered when people would start being rude, didn't expect it to be you.

I can see plenty of problems, i see stories of children masacred in Palestine, i see people being butchered in many countries, like Syria, i see the affects of Agent Orange, i see famine and drought, i see so many afflictions in the world, perhaps thats why i feel the protest in US unimportant.

I don't think you are understanding the situation. You are saying just because this situation is not as unfair as in other countries that we should not protest a bad thing? Understand that this is not a protest of a corrupt government per se, but a protest of corporations that want to suck country dry and lead it to poverty. It may not be what they want, but they are doing just that.

If a corporation gets enough power, who is to say that it would not murder people that it thought would be bad for their profits? Or most likely, create a third world nation out of a developed one and have people starve to death. Could happen if they are left unchecked.

That said, I still do not agree with this protest. There are too many people in it who do not know what the cause is. Poor planning and execution. If it was better organized, maybe less people would get maced or arrested and the message would actually get across to the people that need to hear it.

And yet some people still wonder why America and the UK went to war with Iraq and afghanistan? Corporations influence on our governments!they wanted oil and in afghan that wanted it producing opiates again for thier benifit!
These protests are against the reason the Americans went ahead with these ridiculous wars, the rich "elite" in media, oil companies and so on keep the system working in their favour no matter who is president / prime minister until people make a stand, we do not live in a democracy if u vote someone in but yet the country is still powered by the rich and not the people, yes lybia etc were worse off bt doesn't mean we should sit back and let the rich milk us and our own countries as well as others, COMMON LAW FTW lol

Lol, I wasn't rude/ wasn't mend rude, I know you know what is going on in this world, that was why I ended with

Sure, losing a job/career/house/car/wife/children/pet/whatever (not the real lives of the living beings) isn't the worst thing to lose in a war. I only want to say it is an economic war we have now. look at Greece, they can't pay and will go broke. Investors gamble on this and make big money if this really happens. How wrong is that? How many Greece people will see their life change because of the dark ages that are coming to them? And the rich people make big money gambling on this?
And the Finnish people wanted a collateral for their money. If Greece won't pay back, what will happen? Will Finland go to war to take their collateral? What will other European countries do in this situation, claim some islands too? It can go really wrong with Greece for us all. And yes I am worried about that because the worst thing what will happen is the downfall of the Euro. Remember (...) the situation in Germany before WOII, people had to pay a thousand Deutch Mark for a bread. Hyperinflation with a war and millions of death as result. See my point if you think in an economic war way? These people protest against the economic war

If I look to Africa, how many hungry people there are.... No one should have any right to protest against anything but this? Because we can change it id we really want. I agree with you, we have to protest more I would say, there are more things to protest against, especially dictatorship. And even dictatorship is driven by economic thinking of the dictator. Enslave the people and shoot them if they protest, just to protect the dictator's bank account... Everything is about money... Money is the new believe
