I just had a look through my accounts. I must say it's pretty crap that this is only for the US store atm. I hope when the Europe store adopts this that there will be a few PS2 classics in the library.

Obviously they will, it's just a matter of regional authorizasion time.
I wonder if anyone is able to track a pkg file from any of them, lets pick the smallest, and send it via pm to me, don't post it here.
I wonder if they did package the contents inside a EBOOT (like PSOne) or they have the contents standalone or something else...
By the size of the files it looks like the didn't just put isos inside an EBOOT, there would be dummy files to keep the space, but we'll see.
Remember while you download, track down the link from the traffic of your internet connection.

Only able to get it to 720P?.......hmm well even though people will disagree with me, I'm sure that the PS3 has more then enough power to emulate the PS2 games at 1080P with their current emulator used in the upcoming PSN-PS2 tittles. The only reason why I can see them not doing that is because of looks. You stated that you run PS2 games on your PC at 1080p+ well so do I. Actually I run my emulator at 2880x2160 and have the window size at 1600x1200. I then full screen, It has borders but its the correct aspect ratio for most PS2 games. It looks amazing but isn't perfect, I find that the textures are somewhat low res and the texture up-sampling didn't help too much. I think this was the case with the new PSN-PS2 games, they only went to 720P as texture would look bad at 1080P. I'm thinking a way to fix this is not just have texture up-sampling but some texture filtering as well, but that would equal more processing.

no offence meant, but since this is a download of a pkg and not say a psn store link how could one verify that this is the actual package.

Upon installing any of these new titles I get the broken image file, and the notice of unsupported data. I know these would be signed for 3.72 but I still thought they should show on the ps3 xmb, any ideas?

Exactly, It looks like one of the latest firmwares bring a hidden feature that 3.55 and lower are not available to handle with.
It should show the Icons etc, but instead it says unsupported data.
The games inside have a SAVEDATA folder containing Virtual Memory Cards like PCXS2, exactly the same format.(I guess this is why you can't save on Cobra's full software emulator, it requires something like this.)
Also the game contains of what I understand the Game ISO plus it's CUE file.
If anyone wants I can make a foldertree so you can understand the structure.
Theoritically, you could replace the ISO file and the CUE with whatever you want, I guess they did the PS2 classics because of what Cobra did recently so they could milk the cow from people OFW instead of leading them to use Cobra.
