nah i dont have a game in it , i tried connecting this ps3 on my monitor, my tv, the living room tv and still nothing, ive tried my other ps3 slim everywhere with the same cables and it works |

have you tried av cables on the ps3 that the hdmi is not working on?

when i connect the hdmi cable from the tv to the ps3(while the component cable is connected on the ps3), the ps3 recognizes it but when i do the switch from component to hdmi it doesnt show anything on hdmi but
"No signal, check connected device's power, cable connection , and source selection" |

Then i would have to say that you are definitely getting a signal coming out to the video board. I don't know how much experience you have with the inside of the ps3 or taking it apart but i would say that either you have a cracked solder joint on the hdmi connector if your lucky or their may just be another bad component on that board that you are not getting your hdmi signal to the hdmi connector. That is my thoughts, maybe someone else here has a better suggestion.

If your going to do that. then before you buy one at least take the board out since you will be replacing it anyway, and inspect it. see if the hdmi port is loose and look closely at solder joints, or any dark areas on the board

i checked it and theres nothing loose or broken, i really dont know what to do!
is there any way that i need to update my ps3 thru multiman for the hdmi to work? |

I seriously doubt it, But I have not been here as long as allot of other people here. Maybe someone that has been here longer has come across similar hdmi issues. I had tried to Google and found similar issues others were having but no fixes.
