In addition to that, you can also create a new memory card from your PC, copy individual saves to it and copy the images to "dev_hdd0/savedata/vmc" (sans the speech marks), BUT make sure you have created the memory card images via the XMB AND make sure that the filenames and its extensions MATCH the ones that are originally on the PS3's HDD!

Also, I vote for the standalone PSone application too.
I tried your method and finally the games are able to load from the "invisible" saves Also i found out how to make them appear on the xmb! If you have a PSone save on a usb flash drive and you copy it back on the ps3, after it gets copied, the "Memory Card Utility" will display all the saves (and the invisible ones). At least it did that on my PS3 after I used your method to check my memory card and see if it has anything in it, and copied it back on the ps3. Thank you very much for your help, I can finally enjoy all my old games, and be able to save too.

Also, thanks for mentioning me in your tutorial, even though I did nothing XD

...you can use any multiMAN version before 02.07.01 (eg. 02.07.00)

If you already have installed any version between 02.07.01 and 02.08.06, you may have to delete multiMAN from XMB (and therefore the themes, cached files >4GB, etc.) or wait for the fix.

To continue using the latest version of multiMAN 02.08.06 (with PSX stuff and all the other features, and avoid delete your themes, cached files and settings), I suggest you install another Backup Manager, like Rogero, Iris Manager, Gaia Manager or even the original OBM, just to backup your original games.

Don't get me wrong, I love multiman and dean's work. And i only asked because I don't have any links to older versions. Thats why I asked about the others. That is all.

To be honest the psx craze that is going on doesn't interest me, I know others love it and I respect their choice. I personally just want ps3 features. Anyways, Thanks aldostools.

First post updated with link to 02.08.10 (update):

multiMAN ver 02.08.10 UPDATE (20111005-183000).pkg (1.75 MB)

All back to normal.

* Backup from PS3 game discs now works as it should
* You can still launch PSX games from XMMB Game Column
* You can still launch PS3 game backups from DVD-R/RW / BD-R/RE
* You cannot create ISO backups or access non-genuine PS3 game discs
* You will see a "STAR" icon in XMMB Game column, which you can use to launch your PSX backups.

To keep the same functionality as before you can turn on "Direct Disc Access" from XMMB Settings column.

* Press [TRIANGLE] -> Enable Direct Disc Access

When in Direct Disc Access mode you can do all the stuff you did before, except "creating backups of PS3 Game Discs".

Thanks for the update.
Out of curiosity would it take much work to make you PSX loading thing into an app that could be on the XMB, so you would need to just insert backup, and select this PSXBackup app?
