And didn't the structure of the whole protection scheme change in 3.56? so wouldn't using an older FW be almost impossible and pointless?

its because the 3.55 encyption keys are used to pack the pup and not the 3.56 decyption keys....we already have the keys to pack a pup for older fws.the decyption keys are only useful in other terms to unlock 3.56 games to be played on the ps3.

Well most of us on this site are intelligent enough to know that the private keys are needed, so i stick by my previous statement, it is not possible, because the 3.56 keys do not exist.

Because not everyone is willing (or understands how) to do that.
Besides, in 3.41 is not alot of room in the keytables. Sure, you can overwrite the second table, patch the pointer (from 0x28 to 0xd8) and use that secondtable room for the extra keys, but then you still have to patch the revision check (from 0x01 to 0x03).

To give you an idea what you need to add in the keytable (for 3.41 you need to add 3.50++ and below, for 3.55 you need to add 3.56++ and below):

That is bull, they are known and listed since the day 3.56 came out. (its the 3.56 private keys that are not public)

More bull, private keys are only used for signing (for when you wish to resign it as 3.56) and never added to public sources like appldr/PUPs like the threadstarter suggested (in which case you don't need the 3.56 private keys at all).

By signing with 3.55, 3.41, 3.15 private keys, while letting appldr know there are more revisions inside its keytable.

Anyhow, it would be much better to release a PS3 MFW Builder task than a binairy PUP, that way everyone can make his own firmware or convert the ones they are using now to 3.56 suitable.

Yeah, i misread the thread, i was in the wrong, though that could have been pointed out before i made myself looks stupid.

Of course i know of 3.56 keys, but i assumed he was referring to the private keys, which is why i said it wasn't possible.

I see so many 3.56 CFW threads, they all start to look the same.

@euss is correct in everything he say's, in future i will learn to read the thread correctly >.<

Ah ok, I mixed up 3.56 and 3.60.. I just woke up when I answered the question. We do have time-zones on this planet and not every ps3hax member lives in the same part of the world

KaKaRoTo released all 3.56 keys (except the key with random number encryption) over 3/4 of a year ago. No dev thought about what Raiderscrusade wants in the between time? Adding new keys to ps3mfw is easy enough I think?

What ever happened to Dark Alex lol, wasn't he supposed to get on the ps3 scene with his own CFW? wonder how much different it would be from kmeaw or rebug if he ever came around to making one.
