Wow... I told myself that when they got PSP games to work on PS3, I would buy Cobra.

Finally that day has come. Quite surprising indeed!

I have plenty of legit PSN content (PSN AND PS1 games) that I had since before I put CFW on my PS3, and all of it runs just fine.

A Russian hacker got PSP games running months ago, without a cobra. It only works with certain games, and is very slow, JUST LIKE COBRA.

The Cobra can't do anything OFW or any other CFW can't already do. You can't play online games through PSN. You can't play PSN content signed past 3.55. You can't play PS2 games if your PS3 isn't a BC model.

The one big advantage Cobra had was being able to play PS1 backups. Multiman does that now too. LOL.

Cobra. for the [s]Win[/s] OWNED.

Do you even know what you're talking about? or you are just posting all that crap to mess with the ps3Hax community?

Every post I have seen from you is just non-sense, you should do some research before posting.

There are plenty Reviews around PS3Hax from legit owners of the Cobra dongle, in those reviews you can find the real facts about Cobra, or you want me to make a technical review just for you?.

Next time you write something make sure its real, so far your statements are without base.

I'm posting it to mess with the Cobra owners, because the dongle makers are the bane of the homebrew scene. They are the opposite of what homebrew coding and hacking is supposed to be about.

I know the Cobra does more than that. I just don't support the dongle makers. I support the real coders like Deank and Squarepusher and Robohobo.

And I also know that everything the Cobra does will eventually be available for free and open source in CFW/Homebrew. As it should be.

In my opinion, supporting Dongle makers is like supporting Chinese Blu-Ray pirates. They only make Sony come down harder on the real coders.

Well I don't know about that because I can't see the future, but hey!, you seem to have some skills to see whats coming! keep it up.

Now, I don't see the problem with all kind of developers making public their different exploits in their own ways. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want with their work. Some developers like to 'share' their work like @deank and other good devs, but they are NOT obligated, if they wanted they could sell their application, but hey lets be 'thankful' because they are giving it for free.

I support, value, appreciate and I'm thankful for "every" kind of contribution that anyone does for the scene, I don't care if they sell it, I don't care if it was a chinese, if it was a black person, a white person, etc...I just value the fact that it is a contribution to the scene and we have many 'alternatives' to modify or hack our consoles.

To give you an example, when the scene was red hot last year, I bought a TI84+ Calculator, I bought a E3 dongle, I started using the free tools that got released, I started using the CFW that got released, I have donated to multiple devs, I been trying to do my own homebrew.

Whatever the scene offers me Im here to support it (except any kind of stuff that will brick my console LOL).

If I want to sell some of my work as a programmer, why I shouldn't do it? because you want it for free? because you don't have ~$40 dollars?

If you have a job, you know what is to earn something for what you have done, if you never had a job you will not understand this.

In my personal point of view Cobra dongle is worth the ~$40 dollars they selling, they are giving constant updates and new stuff and I don't have to pay anything else, I just go there and get the updates. Hell, getting a Cobra is cheaper than getting a new "single" PS3 game, and I don't have to say to you what you could save with those $40 dollars.

If someone come up with all the stuff that Cobra has done with time and release it for free, then great! as I said before I support anything that contributes to the scene in any way.

SeeYa!
^^

Without those "evil" dongle makers, you wouldn't be playing ps3 backups and homebrew right now. And without their products being reverse engeneered, you will probably not get those features. I would say supporting them is not bad, because after all, they make progress that maybe weeks or months later someone will port to the homebrew scene., because one thing is sure: they are faster finding things that most homebrew coders.

I have been running 3.60+ games since months ago, but I won't share the method, but if someone figures it out, remember that I was the first one and I deserve the credits

And I've been around the homebrew and coding scene since long before the PS3 even existed. There were no dongles for the PSP. I never supported the modchips for the PS2 or PS1, either. Free and shared or GTFO. I don't believe in paying money for what amounts to illegal/pirate gear. Call me superstitious, or just plain stubborn - but the only reason people buy these products is because they enable piracy. I know, I know. people will make dumb argumetns that the code in these things isn't Sony's copyrighted material, etc. Still, the only thing they provide is access to piracy - even if there is no Sony proprietary code in there. I can't fault anyone for wanting to back up their games, or play from copies, or even some piracy within reason. But I don't think anyone in this scene should be PROFITING from that piracy.

Allowing or enabling piracy is one thing, charging for it is entirely another.
