Hard Disk Corrupted

Hey guys, I was playing Madden 12 when all of a sudden it freezes.
Everytime after that any game I play freezes 10 minutes into gameplay.

I ran a system check by doing File Restore and it said my Hard Disk was Corrupted and that it shall restore it, everytime I restored it though the problem was still there. I'd restore the file once more and no luck.

I did format utility option and formatted the hard drive, didnt work.
I also restored factory settings and it still didnt work.

What else can I do?

Try watching a movie as well, something HD and with lots of action preferably, and see if your PS3 freezes doing that as it could be a temperature thing if it happens with any game you play and aways around the same sort of time.

Dont have any HD Blu-Rays but I have a couple HD movies installed on my PS3.
They run fine, also regular DVDs run smoothly.

I dont understand whats going on, I was thinking maybe a hard reset but I just cant seem to get my PS3 to hard reset. I close the switch on the back and turn it back on and i wait for 3 beeps, but instead of going to the hard reset it just goes back to standby mode.

(this is a 60GB launch model by the way from japan )

Try to do the same with HD movies that their bitrate is like 20MBps+ for like atleast 10 minutes. (they should be AVC, not MPEG-2)
This should give a more accurate result since stuff lower than 10-8mpbs like Youtube rips are not ever going to cause any kind of hangs on your PS3 even if it is just a day before its death...

We never said its a Disc Player problem, it's actually a system performance stress test what we told you to do.

Unbelievable, not a single action Blu-Ray was left at the Redbox.
All drama, comedy and a couple documentaries.

Guess I have to wait for tomorrow till someone returns it.

If this is performance stress related, what fixes can I look into?

If you go into recovery and do a restore file system it will always (!!) report corruption and go to repair, no matter what....

Does it have the same freezing time if you turn off the ps3 for over an hour first? What was the last time you cleaned the PS3? Is it standing free or in a kind of furniture?

I just cleaned the inside of the PS3 when these problems occured, though I didnt clean the Disc player as I did not have the correct size screw driver to open it.

And its laying flat down on a surface away from any kinds of dirt or dust, plenty of space to breathe.

I tried a game of madden, it died off around the 4th quarter. (So about 30+ minutes) then I tried again and it died half way through the 2nd quarter. Then I tried again and it died in the first quarter.
