what is a non genuine ps3 disc?? a game burnt to a dvd or bd??

My BD Drive dont read any BD discs, only DVD's. Can i mount ps3 backup on DVD disc and run via non genuine disc method?

Am I reading this right in that I can't backup my retail hard copies????????

When in direct access mode you can burn bluray movies. When you are not in direct access mode you can back up your ps3 games. Do you get it? I think this allows us to play ps3 games on bd or dvd disc too, right

Is there a way for me to disable some of the display modes or is that something only you can do? I ask as there is only 2 or 3 of all the displays I use.

So, I press Triangle and I don't have a "Direct Disc Access Mode" or anything that relates to that sort of thing. o_o;
