Hello all

as my info says i am completely new here (at forum and PS3 stuff as well)

yet i am not new to programming and coding (used to code games and applications be4)

anyway

i have a 3.56 console after too many searching and reading hundreds of posts i informed that there is no way (for now) to mod that version and as the flashers are not available in my country i went to a crazy thought

what if i installed a 3.55 official firmware to my console , i have been told be4 it wont let me install it in anyway coz it will just accept 3.56 or higher but i just said give it a try

and so i tried , actually i did it and i did it twice and it said that installing succeeded in both

what i am asking about here is:-

-am i now on 3.55 (means i can use the modding guides) or still on 3.56

and be4 u (with my great thanks) answer me just to be completely aware of what happened let me tell you what i exactly dd

-i downloaded the official 3.55 firmware
-went to debug mode then installed it from a storage media
-with no comments or messages at all (except the privacy policy) it installed correctly and successfully the it rebooted automatically
-i checked my system and it said 3.56 (still stuck there)

-so i said what if i try to install it via the menu
-i went to the update system option and choosed the storage media
-with an only one comment saying (The data found are the same as the system already installed! are you sure to continue ?) and i pressed yes
-it copied the files and then rebooted then installed it then rebooted for the last time
-checked the system again and still 3.56

now i just wondering is that normal ??
and if i tried this methods with CFW will it work?

appreciating any help or hints

you sure your not installing 3.56 ofw not 3.55 ofw because it should fail if you try installing 3.55 on 3.56 because it shouldnt accpet it and install it

do you have a disc in the drive? if you have a game in the drive and on the disc is the 3.56 firmware pup it will install that. because bd rom comes before usb.

yes i have the game came with the console , it's a care race called "Motor Storm Apocalypse"

does it contain the firmware ? and why it ddnt comment with "same data msg" at the first time ?

nvm seems you are r8 i tried to install it again without the disc it said no updates found

now if there is a tot or someone Volunteer to create a guide on how u can find the keys or how the process work in steps would be great

that game is 3.56 so you were actually flashing 3.56. also if you console came with 3.56 then you can not downgrade to 3.55 = brick
