Ok cool, I gotcha....

and that probably would have worked if I didn't accidently also delete the game itself from that same XMB Game Data menu.

It's wierd now because Multiman says it is still on my drive, and when I go to 'test'. It scans all the files and says they are all there at 4.7gigs or whatever, but since I deleted the game from the Game Data menu in the regular XMB menu, when I go to launch it; it says there is an error starting the game.

I think I messed it up, oh well.

How did you delete your game through the PS3 Game Data Utility? there's some misunderstanding here, if you deleted the updates you had for that game make a backup of any savegames you have for it and then delete them from the ps3 as well and try to run the game again, if needed apply permissions from within the Game Settings on XMMB

Regards

I reckon you have the extension as .JPG. If so it needs to be .jpg , lower case. Use 'file manager' section to rename and then all will be back to normal.

BTW yes mM was able to once see .JPG extensions but it's lower case only from the last last update.

Hope this helps (BTW it drove me mad for a good 20 mins before I worked it out courtesy of a post on here )

Check that all the .jpg extensions are lowercase.

e.g.
My Movie.avi
My Movie.jpg

When I download the update on my ps3 it shows 3 files under 'install package files', all with the same name without any way of distinguishing them.

Last time I ran one I caused an error so I am just wondering which one I should install, thanks.

AFAIK the 3 files with the same name are the *same* file, just listed 3 times in ★ Install Package Files. It normally happens when multiMAN mounts the folder after you press X to start a PKG in File Manager.

EDIT:

I had forgotten that I had tried to fix it by swapping the eboots, so I swapped them back and it works fine now.

Also, its weird. Top Spin 4 installs itself twice. So earlier when I said I had deleted it in the regular XMB menu. I really did. When I loaded it up in XMMB this time, and launched it. It had to reinstall it on the regular XMB side as well to be able to play it. XMMB tricks it to think the blu ray is in there, and then when you go to launch it, it says this game needs to be installed on the hard disk, and it installs it again.
