well according to the news Sony has just announced their ‘Only on PlayStation Network’ program that will also introduce the release of a handful of PS2 titles over PSN. Those titles will be available starting tomorrow and include: God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red.
Sony’s Morgan Haro shared the following statement:
“The PS2 games are in their original form. These aren’t remasters, and therefore won’t have Trophy support. But they retain their original gameplay, look, and charm through and through.”

So not all games but it will be great if same support comes on CFW
This does not look impossible now.the pkg file that will be available for download,

hmmm..good observation. However do you happen to know how the HD Collection PS2 games are run on the PS3? It could be the same way these titles are going to run *They probably convert it to some other format*

well they all were redesigned to run on PS3
n this is not the same thing, the pkg will give answer to a lot of questions i think

Ps2 didnt have HD support.. So if a ps2 game is remastered in HD its ps3 remake of a ps2 game.. Now above sounds like ps2 format..

I have done lots of testing on this, the remastered games (PoP & Tomb Raider) are basically like a PS3 game structure, but then inside them is the PS2 file structure, however, after LOTS of messing around, trying this and that, I could never get any other game to load in place of the remastered game.

And before anyone asks, no I didn't just copy the PS2 game into the folder, I did attempt to edit things and make it work, lol.

GT4 supported 1080i resolution...not ALL ps2 games had HD support, but not all PS3 games support 1080P.

I'm not saying sony isn't recompiling games to release on the PS3...but get your facts strait...the PS2 did support HD.

I stand corrected on the HD on ps2...
These four games have 1080i support

Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
Tourist Trophy
Jackass: The Game
Gran Turismo 4

If the above list is correct then it is a very small portion.. less then 1% ..

My assumption was if they are not remastered in HD then they will most likely be in PS2 format... but im just speculating..

hopefully they sell those 4 though... the lineup for ps2 games on psn right now are pretty weak
