This is a minor breach really...it is fun to hate Sony for it, but so far it doesn't look like it was their fault and they didn't wait 10 days to tell people, so it is a vast improvement from last time.
Granted, they are still pissing off hackers (as well as everyone else), and that makes them a target. Plus, the hackers obviously bypassed the annoying system that everyone else has to use to log in...there is no way they could have gotten into 90,000 accounts by using their controllers to type user names and passwords one at a time and then waiting 30 seconds for the PSN server to respond. |

Get Your Facts Right...............
Sony said some PSN IDs & Passwords have been took from other sites(thru data mining). They suspended 90,000 PSN accounts because of suspicious activty(Wrong passwords been entered on a large scale).
So basically they security is working just fine. |

Massive booby traps/Accounts or just maybe they are being paranoid, prey of their our own *we have a better security now* game.
Since when you believe what Sony says... No offense, but with the massive ****@@$ things that happened they lost credibility. Last edited by hellsing9; 10-12-2011 at 05:48 AM. |

Just like to add this nice bit of news for $ony haters:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15272573 Interesting how they arent forcing people to pay £100 for these to get repaired or replaced like they do with the PS3...could it be that it would then get more people to realise that $ony are greedy bastards. Woah hang on, with this they are willing to send an engineer to the persons' house! Though it says this is for a service check, wonder what happens if the TV needs repairing, nice fat bill perhaps? :P

How is this news? I bet a ton of websites get hit with these kinds of attacks on a daily bases. Sony's security is working since they caught the attempted logins and locked the affected accounts. It's not Sony's fault people use the same password for everything.

and this should be a PS3 Hacking site?
lulz, 90% of you don't even know what a HACK is. These attempts appear to include a large amount of data obtained from one or more compromised lists from other companies, sites or other sources. In this case, given that the data tested against our network consisted of sign-in ID-password pairs, and that the overwhelming majority of the pairs resulted in failed matching attempts, it is likely the data came from another source and not from our Networks. We have taken steps to mitigate the activity. Haters are haters. ![]() ![]() ![]() fail |

But it's Sony's fault for not enforcing decent security for their users.
The only thing they can do is put diapers on all of their clients and hope they don't over **** their pants. They don't to be able to change the diaper, and clean the baby's butt.
