You know I've had more replies in this thread than I've had on another two forums.


Unfortunately all the links i come across for mfw builder are dead and i cant seem to find ps3tools that from what I've read is needed to run mfw builder


If i do find a copy of mfw builder would the rout i need to take be.....


1.download 3.55 ofw

2. run the ofw through mfw builder

3. upgrade my 3.15 ofw to the 3.55 ofw i run through mfw builder

4. download kmeaw 3.55

5. run the kmeaw through mfw builder

6. upgrade my 3.55 ofw to the kmeaw 3.55 i run through mfw builder

7. install multiman as usual

Would that be correct?

ok u dl 3.55 ofw from this site start mfw builder up
in the bit that says original fimware browse to the 3.55 ofw
you just dl
in the bit say mod fimware is what you going to make so browers somewhere to store you new firmware and give it a name

make sure all option in task bit are not ticked the only one you want ticked is "allow fimware update of console with broken drive " once you ticked that then another menu on the right comes up saying

"remove bdprevoke " and "remove DB firmware "

once you done that click on right build mfw

at some point it will ask you do u want to remove blu ray think press yes and let it run till it say complete . rename the fw you just made to PS3UPDAT.PUP

install it threw recovery mode

once you all sort and your on 3.55 ofw then get kmeaw 3.55 fw and do the same as what you did to the 3.55ofw
with mfw builder but use kmeaw 3.55 fw as the original

That's strange, The first time i used your link it just took me to the rebug homepage, but i just used it again and it took me to the mfw builder rar file.

I thought i would give you all an update......

I've managed to install:

1. kmeaw 3.55

2. multiman 02.08.00 (then found out there was a 02.09.01 )

3. BDROM-Reset

4. BDEMU2 (not sure if i still needed this but installed it just in case)

5. Blackbox FTP (still not sure what this is.....lol)

6. Rebug 3.72 Spoof


I've got a game that consists of a bunch of .SFB , .PNG , .DAT , .TRP , .BIN , .XXX files.



Has anyone got a link showing how to load and play these on the internal hard drive ?

I have now also installed Gaia Manager 2.07 , LV2 Patcher and tried multiman’s eboot fix but i still cant get a game to play.

All I'm getting when i try and load a game is a black screen and the only thing i can do is turn off the ps3

This is what I'm doing:

1. on my pc i drag and drop the game files onto my usb stick (in the GAME folder).

2. i put the usb stick into the ps3 and load up multiman.

3. in multiman i highlight the game and press the triangle button.

4. on the right hand side of the screen i click copy and then yes to the message asking if i want to copy the game to the internal hard drive.

5. Once the game is on the hard drive it creates a new icon, so i highlight it and press the triangle button.

6. On the right hand side of the screen i click on game options (i think that's what its called).

7. once in there i put a tick in internal then press circle to come back out

8. i then click get permissions (i think that's how its worded) after that i click load.

9. after clicking load, it brings me back to the ps3’s (kmeaw’s) original menu.

10. i then highlight /app_home/ps3_GAME/ and it shows the game i just loaded with multiman so i press X (I've also tried select + X)

It then look like its going to load something but just stays at the black screen.

The games I've tried so far are:

X-Men Origins Wolverine

Batman Arkham Asylum

Ape Escape

Has Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

That's the guide i used

But it doesn't cover playing games and i cant find one that says how to play them discless

Just make sure the games are able to be ran discless which I'm sure you've done only thing I can think of is to tick the direct boot in the game options. It looks to me that you have done everything right give that a try, If you have the cash it is worth it to have you disc drive replaced or repair you won't regret it.
