I went hunting for older XBox360 console models today at pawn shops. At one place, an employee told me that you can go into system info and press a series of buttons to reset the XBox360 back to its factory release version. I went on youtube and there are a bunch of videos about it. If that's the case, I think I might have an easy time finding any old model and Jtagging it or whatever.

If I'm able to do that, I'm assuming the factory default must be what "bk" is in the settings. Would that be what I go by?

resetting to factory setting will not help you jtag. why do people think it will downgrade the fw. it doesnt do it on the ps3 why would you think it would on the 360. the 360 had efuses that get blown with updates once they are blown you cant unblow them and you cant downgrade

Yeah, I just confirmed that too the other day when I bought an older Xbox 360 model from a pawn shop the other day and tried that reset thing. It kind of pisses me off because a nerdy dude at a pawn shop was telling me that's what he did to downgrade his and JTag it. Either that guy was a lying idiot, or MS did the same as Sony where after a certain firmware you are blocked from downgrading, if it was even possible in any version.

i factory reset does not reset fw all it does is reset all the settings to default, try it with your phone will do the same thing, he lied to you once you go past the dash you can jtag you CAN NOT go back. did it ever occur to you that you where in a pawn shop and he will tell you anything to sell you something, hell he would tell you that you could ps3 fw on a tv remote if it would make you buy the thing

You may just want to wait for the kernel loader/rebooter for the new exploit RGH, when/if that comes out you will be able to basically do anything the jtag can do now, but it will work on any xbox 360 (except xenon) no matter the dash(currently) it will work on slims as well.

But if you dont wait to wait for that you could, buy a jtagable falcon online http://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/t=...-85-proof.html like that one $85 but it is a xenon..

or ive been looking online you can get a JTAGGED xenon for about- $120-130

Prices are dropping since the RGH is coming soon, well its already out but right now you can only use xell reloaded, which cant play any xbox games, just libxenon homebrew. A possible dash loader coming is RGLOADER

oh u can play games with the reset glitch right now but you have to flash the nand with the path to the game and every time you want to play a different one you have to reflash it, the price of jtags has not gone down to much sense the rgh has come out people still want them over it, once they have a re-booter then the price of the jtag will drop and drop hard
something i find funny tho i have yet to see a single person trying to sell an rgh 360

I did occur to me, and I didn't buy anything at his shop just in case as I wasn't sure if he was right. He did openly tell me about the PS3 needing firmware either 3.41 or 3.55, which was a fair sign to me. I just kept reading around trying to find info, nobody answers nor asks the questions, and I was strongly doubting it would work. I decided to grab 1 after about 3 days to try it out. He was definitely wrong. But I now have a console I can use the Datel XSATA cable thing with to get things on my computer.
