Right now downgrading from 355+ needs hardware knowledge and soldering skills and you're going to use a flasher Progskeet/E3modchip so just like they said another PS3 Is the best solution in your case.

One more thing if your ps3 came with OFW higher than 3.55 you cant downgrade
it with a flasher . I might be wrong but am sure this is right .

you are wrong in a way . there are some ps3 that got sold on 3.56 and 3.60 and 3.66 that can be downgraded the reason why is because they wasnt built on them fimware yhey was made on 3.55 fw at factory but then sony updated them to the fw above and then sold them , its so they wasnt on fimware that can have cfw installed , there is a pup file that you can install to see what fw is ther lowest your ps3 can gave

One more question mate . It might be a stupid question lol but can you install the pup file on a non JB ps3 ? if so how plz?

No you cannot.

E3 Flasher limited edition (the one out now), is totally solderless for slim consoles. No soldering, just take apart your PS3 and clip it in place. No dual booting with this version though.

Hi bud if you cant install the pup file on a non JB ps3 how can you tell what the lowest FW you can go to is ?

yeah you can , you put the pup file on a usb stick like a normal update file and install threw xbm via usb it will do it magic and say what the lowest fw you can have

A PS3 update file will not work unless the update file contains a higher firmware than what is already on the PS3. No ifs or buts about it. You can try all you like, but the console will not downgrade without a hardware mod.

As for installing CFW pups, they can only be used on 3.55 or whatever firmware they were made for. (At this time only for 3.55 or 3.41).
