Just a small thing that came to mind. I wouldn't allow it. Let's just say for example. You owned/created CoD: MW12? You made it for PS3/Xbox and so on. Would you allow someone to buy the CD for PS3, play it, then just simply download it off the internet and play it on the XBOX?
My opinion is that the publisher got their money already from you and the console manufacturer also got their money off you
The platform it is used on makes no difference to the publisher.

Look at the way portal was handled, buy for ps3 and get the steam version too. In my opinion that was done correctly and showed a publisher not be greedy for a change.

The way I would imagined a perfect way to run the games industry is that you buy a license for the game and may use it on all platforms. That would force the hardware manufacturers to actually show pride in their consoles and offer the consumer better service and reliability. It would also make them offer more incentives to buy their particular system instead of relying on a publishers exclusive to win the sale of a console

I make it a point to purchase quality games that bring me weeks to months of fun so that the publisher can continue to work on the series or make new games of similar quality. I would hate to see game developing teams not properly compensated for their efforts. I do pirate games that can be completed over the weekend and games that were developed with apparently minimal effort. I feel that the gaming industry mostly releases these sub par games to make high profits and then invests in games like GTA4 that reel in both profit and customer loyalty for quality.

In regards to music I pirate all albums and musical pieces now. I mean it has been well established that record labels and musicians continue to get paid even when CD sales have dropped substantially. They make their money from live performances and the musicians get additional percs like getting paid to simply show up somewhere. IMO these artists live at least a million times better than me so why should I struggle with money to get something I can get for free? A guilt trip over downloading music is better than a guilt trip from not having money to feed my dogs. I say support those who need to be supported but first make sure you support yourself because otherwise who will?

Hmm hope I don't get banned for this. In many threads on PS3hax.net not many know but I am a hypocrite, lol. On some of the threads I post things like "PS3Hax.net does not condone piracy" or something like that but that's to remind people about the rules (I know not my job, just helping). In reality I support Piracy to an extent. There are reasons where piracy would come in handy. Like if someone doesn't have internet to activate a product that requires an online activation, that person would probably have to go to his friends house and download a crack of some sorts to get his software to work. I am pretty sure there are other reasons for piracy that's actually good. I also some what support the bad type of piracy that everyone is more likely to think of when the word piracy is mentioned. I myself pirate movies, music, apps, etc but not so much games its for my little brothers although it still counts (I don't play games at all if not rarely). I sometimes pirate for myself but its usually for friends or family. They usually ask for movies or music, when they ask for games I most of the time tell them I can't do it unless it was a game that I might as well download for my little brothers. I pirate for them and I know its not any better but I like sharing (again I know its still bad). Where I don't support piracy at all is when someone pirates something and then sells it (i really hate that).
What can I say I am a pirate and I will admit it, I take no pride in it, and do feel somewhat ashamed but this is the person I have come to be, and if one day it all comes back and bites me in the ass I'll take it straight on.

You make a good point. But, we all know that will not happen. Sony and Microsoft wouldn't agree with it...

pirate has a poll up about piracy... so i see the discussion always being there.

I agree and so does this site when it comes to posting locations ect.. Thats already a rule..

Piracy isnt always for evil..

Piracy itself is vague..

Is someone a pirate's who Downloads a game they bought already?

I think not and i think freedom of info is a great resource when you find out how to protect your purchases..

Its not the disscussion of piracy that is bad.. Its how it is applied...

There is good piracy and bad piracy...

i can name a handsome ppl that talk about freaking piracy,
and all are ppl with less then 100 posts,
Now i must say i don't like attitude where post count is a refrence..
everyone started at zero.. was everyone's first 100 post crap? There has been some great post by people with a low number...

Well i guess there is no rule for asking... but there is a rule for giving..

Sad truth is there are to many little kids in the scene.. You cant expect them to act mature..

making me very angry,
i go to work and buy games from that monay wich i had to work hard, and then these fag's came here asking illegal stuff,
if I SEE ONE IN MINE STREET, ILL PUNCH ALL THOSE THEETH OUT, and kick him almost to DEATH, for REAL,
so they have to get to work if they wan't to pay the dentist or doctor for there injuries, i really hate them so bad,
getting a little to mad now.

I do not agree with an instant ban for almost anything. An infraction/warning is usually enough to make the person stop talking about piracy and that is all that really matters, right? If they keep doing it, then banning them is a good idea because then you see that they are disregarding the rules on purpose.

Who knows, maybe that person will become a great contributing member to the forum one day. Banning them might discourage them from coming back to a site that, to them, seems hostile.
