CELL/RSX>thermalcompound>waterblock. Would 24hrs of GT5 do the trick or would the watercooling system be too sufficient to allow curing of the thermal compound?

wow mentioning the peltier idea kinda pushed this thread up alittle. I was talking to zembor0 awhile back...like 2-3 months ago about using peltiers and........ Since I already screwed up and mention peltier and ruined my one of a kind ps3 project, I don't think I need to say anything more to screw it up, unless I don't have the money to do it that is.

Hey man, I will share my other idea I don't think It's that big of a thing to keep, Since you have a similar project and plan on designing a custom case the other simple Idea I had in my project was to use a raid controller to achieve ssd like performance and capacity of normal hdds. it probably the 2 simplest ideas I had in my project.

afaik, there is no use of high speed hdds as the ps3 limits to sata1. but i noticed a slight better performance with a 3,5'' hdd with 7200rpm, external of course. even a lower temperature is noticeable.

Well there is still a point. If you didn't already know sata 1 is 1.5 Gbps meaning about 192MBps. A normal HDD is probably on average 60-80MB read (7200rpm 3.5 IN). So if you raid them the performance gains will still be there. And for projects like mine and his where it includes a custom case having 2-4 3.5 IN HDDs is possible.
