I have got the feeling that the ps2emu.self would work (at least) on other fat models too if we just spoof to be bc-model somehow. Maybe this model-check isn't present anymore when running selfs in service mode (atleast there are somehow less checks/restrictions). It seems like the emu just isn't optimized on other models but works (the soft-emu).
And I also think its a good idea to try out the new 3.7 ps2emu.self-file, which has been improved in favour of ps2-classics maybe. cheers |

Virgin reckons the new"?" 3.72 ps2emu self files aren't used in the new classics games so dunno if that would work? Worth a try though.
What really is interesting is that the author states he downgraded a slim to 3.55 and got the same error as us none BC phat folk, that gives me hope it's not about models as much as the firmware/software on the system. Obvisouly need someone with a 3.72 phat model to confirm. Last edited by noir_dreams; 10-17-2011 at 05:43 PM. |

If inputting a USB stick to enter Service Mode requires you to disassemble your PS3 something is really REALLY wrong...

I believe he is referring to using Backup Games, meaning you would have to open your Ps3 to swap disks.

See that graph at the top of the page...red and blue bars...there's a question attached to it too...apparently at the time of writing this works for 62.5% of people....

I unpacked the 3.72 pup. Inside the ps2emu folder there is:
ps2_emu.self ps2_gxemu.self ps2_softemu.self ps2_netemu.self I have never seen ps2_netemu.self before and ps2_softemu.self is slightly larger than my 3.41 version. All of these files are encrypted with 3.72 keys and will NOT work in 3.55 or 3.41 |
