What I really wanted this for was my slim stuck in the 3.56 update. I was willing to give $90 rather than $100 to sony for something they should fix for free. So I what I really need to know is if I'll be able to install this, downgrade to 3.55, remove the flasher then update to ofw without bricking. If it's not possible they just lost another order.

New news:

Here is an Email i received from E3 after questioning why we cannot use our 3.55 CFW or OFW

after downgrade to 3.55, it is already a special CFW3.55, you can install any manager you love on it ! other 3.55CFW and OFW can’t use, because they are not special 3.55, PS3 can’t read it and will get brick . so the easy way is after you downgrade to 3.55, just install manager like multiman, then won’t brick . and you need backup your 3.55BOIS, so any problem you can restore your PS3 . we will release new and nice 3.55 CFW AND manager later, it is free for all e3 flasher user.

The bigger news here is that they are working on their own CFW and manager, but also apparently from this email ANY manager will work.

well i cancel mine so im happy now , just gotta swing the idea of my gf to buy me a new ps3 gunna get a new ps3 gt5 bungle pack as i know thats got 3.41 on the ps3 i think she will get pissed of cos i got 3 ps3 already lol

I have opened my ps3 (US model) and my Nor is not located in the same position as E3. Bad news guys might not be able to use this on the US model made in 2009/2010 here is my ps3 board

It isn't a matter of where the console was sold...they have numerous different mainboard versions for both the slim and the fat, and all were sold just about everywhere. I had assumed that E3 had taken this into consideration...but at this point, I take nothing for granted.
