Another update......

I changed the laser and the disc then started to spin (it didn't before), so i put everything back together and switched the ps3 on and it read the disc.

I then went into multiman and it didn't show any games (not even the ones stored on the hard drive) so i opened up Gaia manager 2.07 and everything showed up and played

So i didn't even need to reinstall kmeaw

I am now getting a message saying i need more disk space so I'm going to but a usb external hard drive for it.

Is there any mod to put a usb port on the back of the ps3 so the wires can be hidden?

I would also like to say a HUGE THANKS to everyone that's helped me with everything

I'm glad you got it working, Multiman uses a different file folder name than Gaia, use MM it's way better, I told you a week ago to change the laser, but in MM the option for discless is directboot, if you every need any help with anything, pm me, the laser repair is way worth it, also you can play fifa 12 with patch

Just a side note that I don't think anyone mentioned, even if your games are in the right folder, you may still need to use the "Refresh" option from the game column of the XMMB of Multiman in order for the list of games to update.

Also, as others have said, Multiman is a much better backup manager than most, and Rogero would be the next best in my opinion. Just toss your games into X:\GAMES\*game folders here* and you'll be able to detect them with MM.

That said, you seem to have things under control thus far Feel free to drop a PM if required. I like to consider myself at least half-way knowledgeable about the PS3. XD

the launch model ps3's that were backwards compatabile have 4 usb ports and memory card slots. then there were fat ps3's that have no bc and only have 2 usb slots and no memory card slots.

Hmmm....

That's how I've got it.

I've just see that there is a multiman 02.09.02 update so I'm going to install that (i thin i can install it without uninstalling the old one?) and give it a go.

oh ok

I was just thinking while typing this....

Is it easy to upgrade the internal hard drive with a bigger one so i wouldn't need an external one, or is there something hard coded to the original hard drive?
