Just wondering what sort of use this provides?
Don't get me wrong its nice to be able to play newer games but if you can't play retail discs then this just seems like a step backwards to ye olde PS1 modchips that just had a device on the back to allow you to read copied dics, i mean IF it does work then hats off to them for getting it to work but this doesn't seem all that useful to me, i'm not really a fan of dongles in the first place hence why i'm on 3.55 so i can boot without them  If they were to enable you to play retail games of a higher firmware then that i would be interested in as i'm looking to play FFXIII-2 on release and will be pre-ordering it soon, sadly if there isn't a better method it means i'll have to leave the CFW scene

To be honest, and bearing in mind I am a grunt not a dev, all this seems to be is a different CFW and patched games, not a CFW that makes you able to play new games.
If it was, then wouldn't the originals work? Even if it only plays copies, there has been mention of 'special' discs' (I think) so that also sounds like a modded game and not a hacked FW to me???? Also, unless the PS3HAX member you have used as confirmation is a trusted and close friend Pirate, I have to err on side of misstrust as he only has 2 posts etc. Call me whatever you wish for looking on down side, but the flood of new members in this thread swearing blind it is genuine and the almost complete lack of any solid evidence just smells wrong to me.

a NOOB question
excuse me but in the first video it shows that the consol is on 3.70 firmware then the gay did something by booting from a usb pen and downgraded to 3.55.
so is that even possible without hardware flashing |

Guys correct me if im wrong on this...
I have been reading all these posts like non-stop! like others im on 50/50 If i remember correctly, didnt DH FW that was soon to be released talked about finding ways to play new games (FW 3.60+) to work with his cfw without needing the new keys? This meant that he and the team found a way to patch these new games. Im wondering if its possible that he or other devs contacted people overseas to make this dongle so he will not get a lawsuit like geohot. My opinion is he wanted to avoid lawsuit so he thought its better for others to release it. I just find it shaddy cuz there wasnt any leaked information. If a new dongle comes out soon that has new ps3 keys in there, then i will come to conclusion, after reading at other scenes and posts, that No-One and DH & crew worked with some overseas companies to release their work to try avoiding lawsuits.. anyone else agreess?? ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Last edited by blackgloves23@hotmail.com; 10-21-2011 at 02:04 PM. |
