3.41 to 3.55 Kmeaw, how do i install multiman?
Ok, I finally decided to go from my ancient 3.41 that used the old ipod nano rockbox psgroove, off on eject hack to get more modern and use 3.55 kmeaw.
I just followed the guide http://www.ps3hax.net/2011/01/tutori...#ixzz1BSXS01c8 but i used the "PS3 Jailbreak Kmeaw CFW" set from pirate bay instead of making my own patched pup file. I checked the md5 and it seemed fine. Ok its apparently installed fine and I still have my old ftp and backup manger 1.0 showing but they are not working. I now want to install multiman, so I tried by going to "install pkg" option but my ps3 froze and neither of my old ftp or backup manager 1.0 work, in the guide it says that i need to install a patch to get multiman to work, which patch do i need as the download link is broken? Thanks in advance. Last edited by bigpun4eva; 10-23-2011 at 02:29 PM. |

Just install the multiMan.pkg and bdemu.pkg files you should be good to go. (be sure its multiMan for 3.55) Heres links: BDEMU2 MultiMan 2.09.00

Ok I tried installing the version of multiman that came with the torrent, it installed but onyl after I froze the ps3 afew times by selecting "install pkg files" option and then trying to exit when it didnt load anything (does it take while for pkg files to show up?). So then I tried the "install all pkg files" option by pressing triangle, it said "scanning" for ages so I went away from tv but I came back and it had installed multiman.
It then did a scan for my games, I let it complete and then there was a list of all my games that are on the internal hdd. It was slow to scroll through though so I exited and deleted the old "backup manager 1.0" and installed the BDEMU pkg. But now when I open multiman there is no list of games but it says "insert a game disc" (or words to that effect) and then loads of options with corresponding keys, so I try pressing any of these keys but nothing happens. So now ive installed the latest multiman, its installed fine but my games that are on the internal are not showing up now. Strange really. It seems that once I deleted the old "backup manager 1.0" multiman cannot see my games on the internal. Thanks so far, we are getting somewhere which is a relief. |

Sorry to be the one to break the bad news but when you deleted the old backup manager you also deleted all of your games from your internal. Multiman cant see whats not there. You need to re rip all the games back to your internal or external. Also, I'd recommend installing a different 3.55cfw if yours is constantly freezing. Make one with MFWBuilder or something, its really easy. Dont forget to install bdemu.pkg. If you need any more help just ask.
EDIT: Just in case you were wondering, the reason you deleted the games from your internal when you deleted the manager was that the old managers used their own content directory to store the games on the hdd (so when you delete the 'game' [old backup manager] you also deleted the games you had backed up). This wont be an issue with multiman or any of the newer managers since they use a different directory on the internal hdd to store the games (Or you could put them on an external). You'll also need to know that any games you patched to run on 3.41 (BlackOps maybe?) will have to be re ripped to work on 3.55 (or just replace the patched eboot.bin with the original).

Well although it cant see my games on the internal, they are still there taking up room on the hdd. Would a hdd format get rid of them?
Its a slight annoyance but ive just bought a 1tb external anyway so hopefully i can get them all on that and they will play. In the interest of saving time, what folder do I put the games in on my external? If by flashed ofw you mean did I install the Sony 3.55 before the Kmeaw 3.55 then yes I did. Any ideas why when I put my usb stick in with the pkg files on the ps3 has trouble loading them and even crashes? It only install them if I select "install all packages". By the way, when I used to use the rockbox psgroove method with 3.41 I used to 1.turn off ps3 2.go to my ipod and select psgroove option 3. Then hit mains power on, ps3 power button on and eject But I used to do this every time I wanted to play a game using backup manager or use ftp. It has just occurred to me that maybe I only needed to use the rockbox exploit once with my ipod in the ps3 usb and any time after that all i had to was turn off, power on, eject without the ipod attached. I never tried it like that, I wonder if doing the full process every time has filled my ps3 up with junk that is causing problems? |

I would re inatall cfw from a place other than the bay, if it's freezing on pkg install that is weird it should only take a few seconds to install pkg depending on size. Big Pun 4 Ever! yea yea

Ok ive just double checked and I was wrong to believe that the games were still there as it says there is only 82gb free of 111gb so that must just be saves and the OS I guess.
I even checked the file manager to see if Ic ould find the games that I stored in dev-hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/ and I couldnt find them. I will persavere with this FW and see If it is stable, perhaps it was slow at loading my pkg files off my usb stick because the stick is 32GB. Ok so my next question, is what format should I put my 1tb external too? I know PS3 used to only like FAT32 but there was the 4GB limit and multiman lets you change the driver to use NTFS or FAT32, whats my best option? Cheers youve all been great. Big Pun 4 Ever braaaaap braaaaaaaaap !!! |
