Hi everyone,
I'm having a little bit of a problem signing homebrew for Geohot 3.55 CFW.

I am trying to sign PS.M.A.M.E which I got from here:

I downloaded geohot's ps3publictools_release.zip (which I got a while back from here:

;to sign the PKG. I assumed that I could just drag and drop the PKG into the application (I do have libeay32.dll in the folder with the application) but I was still not able to use my package installer on my PS3.

I already have 8 other pkg's which I have installed and have been using, as these were all ready signed for Geohot 3.55.

I have looked around for a tutorial on using the signing tools but nothing seems to be working. I have used CMD to operate the package_finaliser, I used a windows GUI version and nothing seems to be working out for me!

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial, write here what to do or even better - point me to a place that has pre-signed geohot 3.55 packages. I only want MAME and the Amiga emulator. I don't need any roms or bios files I just want to know how to sign howbrew for geohot 3.55!

Trust me, I've tried that already. That's why I'm trying the self signing method, it's my last hope short of changing to a CFW that supports unsigned PKG's (which I don't really want to do).

The internet is spammed with idiots including the word 'MAME' when infact they are talking about FBA-Next.

This is why I want to learn about self signing.

why not changing to another CFW? what's keeping you on geohot's CFW? life is easyer on rebug...

My honest opinion is get rid of that GeoHot junk, go for Kmeaw or Rebug, you wont have to worry about signing again.

I understand that if I revert back to OFW 3.55 (which I do have the .pup for) and then go back over that with Kmeaw I'll be able to run the unsigned pkg's.

My only concern is that I'll have to reinstall all my emulators and roms again, and this is something I really don't want to have to do. This may not be true, and I'm worrying about nothing but it took sooooooooo long to go through all my C64 and ZX Spectrum tape images and unzip them because the PS3 emulators get picky with zipped images (although console roms are ok zipped) I don't want to go through all that again!

I have no interest in PS3 back-ups, only in retro emulation so anything out side of homebrew is not what I'm hacking for.

I just thought that someone here would know how to repack the .pkgs for 3.55 which would save me hours and hours of messing around with tape images.

Magic package can sign them I used it all the time for the same reason you need to sign them .It is easy as hell . Use the -> finalize option & you can install it ! I was on geohot & i switched & i am happy as FK now to get away from that patch ! Change is better everything will be fine all you installed stuff works again..

I still suggest you update to one of the top 3.55 CFW's, but its your choice and i respect that
